An evocative reading of the Psalms

An evocative reading of the Psalms

The Psalms shape us by the feelings they evoke.

In today’s episode, Brandon, Matt and Peter sit down on the back porch to explore a few psalms together. We work through a few common presumptions we have about the Psalms and Brandon gives us his simple guide to reading poetry. We spend some time actually doing the process with Psalm 121 and Psalm 16 to close out the conversation.
We pray this evocative exploration of the Psalms helps you engage more deeply with God’s Word! Thanks for joining us on the back porch!

Abundant life: Learning to manage our sin, right?

Abundant life: Learning to manage our sin, right?

Welcome to another back porch conversation with Brandon, Matt, and Peter. We’re glad you’re here! Today’s episode is an attempt to unpack the idea of the "gospel" of sin management. After a bit of a rough start, jumping straight into some criticisms, we refocus and find our way to the central issue of our desire for security. Even though we know we are saved by grace alone, it FEELS like we must be continuously growing, managing our sin in order to be secure in Christ's love. We ask ourselves what "abundant life" as a Christian really means and explore how abiding in Christ, not managing our sin is the way forward. Join us for the journey! May this conversation bless and encourage you :)

Welcome to the Signpost Inn Podcast!
👀 Join us for an incredible retreat!
This is our final episode on The Lord's Prayer. Together, Brandon, Matt and Peter cover the second half of The Lord's Prayer and examine the "our petitions." Join us as we navigate the rich meaning of these petitions as well as the apparent problems which each of them presents. We tackle questions like, "What is the daily bread I am praying for?" "Is God's forgiveness contingent upon my own willingness to forgive?" and, "What if God doesn't give me my daily bread or deliver me from temptation?"
God loves you and we're grateful you're here :) We pray this episode encourages and comforts you.

Awesome podcast

It’s been so helpful to me, especially going through all these lockdowns in China, I listened while standing in the long long lines to get Covid testing every day during our hardest lockdown since the virus first showed up in 2020

I listen to multiple signpost inn podcasts more than once to catch all the packed in goodness! I think Brandon is especially good at sharing illustrations that help me understand topics in a more personal and genuine way. This podcast helps me refocus on what is really important and encourages my walk with God in deep, meaningful ways! I am immensely thankful!
