Creating in 6 ft. Arris & Bennierosevelt

Creating in 6 ft. Arris & Bennierosevelt

This week we are bringing in another milestone, the 6th anniversary of this podcast. I was glad to be joined by my two great friends, return guest Bennierosevelt, photographer and visual storytelling artist and so much more. As well as my friend Arris who is a model, photographer & musician. I hang with a lot of multifaceted people obviously. We spoke to personal barriers and how we have gotten in our own ways to transition to a better version of ourselves. In this episode introspection is the ongoing theme but it's actionable call it what it is so you know what to work on and progress.

The Send it On Call to Action; express how you believe you're in your own way write it down and I hope you use #SimplyHuman and share it online to show the community everyone is working and trying to grow.

    Women+Sex+Wifi=??? ft. Bry Bernard

    Women+Sex+Wifi=??? ft. Bry Bernard

This week I featured model, herbalist, and entrepreneur Bry Bernard to join me to have a conversation on the trend of sex worker platforms, how the male gaze influences women to express their sexuality online, as well as how does a modern woman balance her sensual expressions at various phases of life like motherhood or in partnership.

Lyrical Audacity Vol.1 : You Don't Know My Name

Lyrical Audacity Vol.1 : You Don't Know My Name

Inspired by a recent random post on my Instagram, I thought to make an entire dedication to breaking down classic songs meaning and why the artist felt the need to create an entire song about it. The first volume is a classic song by Alicia Keys, a single from her first album, I break down the obvious and not so obvious themes throughout the song and the video. In addition, I threw in another short breakdown in honor of my grandmother's birthday of the classic blues track by Johnnie Taylor " Cheaper to Keep Her".

    Necessary Lines

    Necessary Lines

This week I gotta shoutout BX's own my friend Sharae, for inspiring me to make this episode. My SendItON CTA for my Men Be Sharing Ep., which was to write down all of your boundaries in categories and keep them with you. In this episode I break down the importance of setting boundaries early especially in romantic connections. Being able to self-advocate within friendships, relationships, or with your immediate family is truly a practice of protecting your peace and agency. I talk about if boundaries can conflict what you could do as well as the key point in setting boundaries is you have to communicate and assert those boundaries once you become aware.

My Beautiful Black Hair ft. St. Clair Detrick-Jules

My Beautiful Black Hair ft. St. Clair Detrick-Jules

This week I have a return guest that was featured on episode titled Khloe's Fro, Go check out that episode as well. She returned to update me on the status of the book since she did release right before the pandemic shook the world. In that time she was able to reassess how she wanted the book to be consumed and the range of audience that could receiver her message. My Beautiful Black Hair seems to be a substantial narrative of black women and their relationship with their hair. We discussed the process she went through to get an agent and an editor, men staying out of women's hair business, and how this rendition is still at the core a dedication to her sister Khloe and all Black women and girls of the world.

Intellectually Stimulating

I am a new listener to the Simply King Podcast. Simply King cultivates the intellectually stimulating content I need while remaining both entertaining and informative.

Rodney appears to do his research and take an unbiased position on most subjects. He provides multiple perspectives to current events. This forces the listener to redesign his/her thinking and invoke some critical thought.

The podcast is one for the people. The conversation, humor, music, and vibe are all culturally relevant. You’ll forget your learning. Rodney is the homeboy we all need! Pour yourself a drink and light a candle while you listen.I guarantee you’ll feel like a new man/woman.

Enjoyed EdifyMe episode

I thoroughly enjoyed this podcast - especially the episode with EdifyMe. Everyone seemed very down to earth and spoke candidly and naturally about topics that matter the most.
