From Philly to the White House: An interview with Deesha Dyer

Sistah Girls, I'm so excited to have Deesha Dyer on the podcast! Without credentials, connections, or a college degree, a hip-hop journalist and community leader conquered her imposter syndrome while landing one of the most exclusive, sought-after, and fun positions in the White House. From, 2015 to 2017 Dyer served as the White House Social Secretary for the Obama administration. While at the White House, Dyer followed Obama's wishes and opened up the most popular house in the world to everyday people. She infused Black culture and created some of the most memorable events in U.S. history. Now, with a new company and a new outlook on work and life, Deesha has added author to her name. Her memoir Undiplomatic: How My Attitude Created the Best Kind of Trouble is a story that reminds everyone that it's not where you start but how you finish.
