What is happening
Guys. You used to deal with skeptical enquiry. Now it is a lot of political opinions.
energy for EV
I am so sorry most people don't get this right, because you're not comparing the same thing. When it comes to ice vehicles, most people ignore the carbon footprint of exploring and drilling for oil, transporting the oil from the well to the refineries, energy to pump the oil through all the pipelines, ocean going tankers, energy to clean up the spills, just the electricity to refine one gallon of oil to gasoline is more than the electric use by the EV to go the same distance of that gallon of gas.
People who oppose the transition to EVs always conveniently leave all that extra carbon footprint out and start comparing an ICE car and an EV from the show room so to give the impression that gasoline cars are almost as clean as EVs.
In all the years I have been following this topic, I very rarely see an actual, honest, unbiased comparison. Given you are a very intelligent person, hopefully you can dig deeper and give a more realistic report
