My name is Max Bretos and I am The Soccer OG. For the last quarter-century I have earned that name by covering every player in every league on every continent. Yes, I have watched more football matches, than I have had hot dinners. I am skilled in one thing… And now I bring that know-how to the Soccer OG Podcast, continuing the tradition of The Soccer OG. Youtube show.

Title is spot on
Max is a true OG of the game and has a criminally underrated voice and opinion. Best pod about North American soccer IMO
A Man of Experience & Logic
Through years in the industry, Max has made a number of friends in the soccer world and so his interviews offer the listeners much more information and variety beyond a steady stream of what is like for a young player trying to navigate a new team in Europe. (I enjoy those interviews on other podcasts as well, but enjoy covering more than that.)
Most episodes also include observations during the intro and/or in “Stoppage Time” - Max’s closing segment where he gives his informed opinion on a topic. Occasionally I would like to see drastic changes in lineups, formations, player movement and Max will draw on his experience to explain what he thinks, why one thing is more likely to happen than another, and what we should appreciate in the moment and look forward to in the weeks/ months/ years ahead.
I look forward to his podcast interviews as well as his YouTube blogs that usually drop Sunday nights/Monday mornings. Max’s content drops knowledge that really fills out the entire body of the world of soccer for the English speaking soccer fans in or from North America.
¡Que Hombre Max Bretos!
What is more comforting than the sweet dulcet tones of the eminently likable - and knowledgeable - Maximilian Bretos!
