Building a Biblical Worldview at Home with Ben and Julie Quine | SoCon Report Podcast

What is a biblical worldview, and why does it matter for families today? In this episode of The SoCon Report, Family Policy Alliance President and CEO Craig DeRoche sits down with Ben Quine, Vice President of Christians Engaged, and his wife Julie, co-authors of A Biblical Worldview Primer, to explain why many of today’s cultural and moral conflicts are rooted in worldview—not merely politics or ideology. A Biblical Worldview Primer is a devotional-style resource designed to help parents and families understand how the Bible defines truth, life, and purpose. The book walks readers through the story of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation, showing how God’s Word fits together and how it applies to everyday life. In this conversation, Ben and Julie discuss: - How a biblical worldview is formed and why it is often shaped in childhood - Why Scripture—not culture—must define truth - How parents can disciple their children using God’s Word at home - Where lasting hope is found when institutions and systems fall short The episode also explores how returning to Scripture brings clarity in confusing times and helps families build a strong, lasting foundation. Faith on Trial: What Jason McGuire’s Story Means for Every Christian

This week on The SoCon Report, we’re bringing you one of the most important and sobering conversations we’ve ever hosted. I sat down with Jason McGuire, Executive Director of New York Families Foundation, whose newly released documentary Inmate 090198 tells the full story of what happened when the state came after him for standing firm in his Christian convictions. Many of you know Jason as a faithful advocate for life, family, and religious liberty in one of the toughest political climates in the country. What fewer people know is the personal cost he paid when New York Attorney General Letitia James launched charges against him, setting off years of legal pressure and intense public scrutiny. Jason’s account reveals the growing reality of lawfare aimed at silencing Christian and conservative voices. In our interview, Jason talks openly about the moment the charges came, how he processed the accusations, and what it was like to spend his first weekend behind bars as a husband, father, and ministry leader. He also shares how the Lord strengthened him when the weight of the situation felt overwhelming. Jason’s new documentary Inmate 090198 is now available, and I cannot encourage you strongly enough to watch it. His story is a warning, but it is also a testimony of God’s faithfulness in the fire. Helping America’s Veterans Through Prayer, with Mike Lynn

Our nation’s heroes carry heavy burdens, and too many are carrying them alone. Veteran suicide is now the second leading cause of death for former military service members under 45. Families are hurting, and many are searching for hope that speaks to both their needs and their faith. On this week’s episode of The SoCon Report, Family Policy Alliance CEO Craig DeRoche sits down with Mike Lynn, co-founder of Pray.com, to talk about a fresh approach that honors our veterans. Pray.com is helping provide faith-based digital tools that come alongside the mental health services already offered through the Department of Veterans Affairs. Their goal is to help veterans find strength, peace, and encouragement rooted in faith. Craig and Mike discuss how digital resources can support chaplains, reduce the stigma around seeking help, and offer real hope for military families who feel unseen. If you care about our veterans, or you know someone who does, this is a conversation worth hearing. Watch the episode now, and please consider sharing it with a veteran or military family in your life. In this week’s SoCon Report podcast, we are diving into one of the most important battlegrounds for families in America: local school boards. The decisions made by school board members determine how our children learn, how parents are included, and whether our communities protect the values we care about most. Family Policy Alliance CEO Craig DeRoche is joined by Amanda Banks, Senior Vice President at Family Policy Alliance and the leader of our School Board Academy. Amanda is working with school board members across the nation to equip them with practical, pro-family tools. She and her team provide training in worldview, curriculum standards, dealing with cultural challenges like gender ideology, and handling issues with clarity and grace. Her impact is already significant. Hundreds of school board members from more than 40 states have taken part in this training. And if you or someone you know serves on a school board, you will hear about brand-new training opportunities designed to help leaders stand firm for families in their communities. Inside the Supreme Court Case on Colorado’s Counseling Ban, with Joseph Kohm

What happened at the U.S. Supreme Court on October 7 could reshape the future of free speech, religious liberty, and counseling for children struggling with gender identity. The case is Chiles v. Salazar, a direct challenge to Colorado’s law that bans licensed counselors from helping minors accept their biological sex, even when that’s what the child and family want. In other words, the state is trying to control what counselors are allowed to say. Joseph Kohm, our Vice President of Public Policy and co-host of the podcast House to Home, joins Craig in our latest episode of The SoCon Report. Joseph was in Washington, D.C., during the oral arguments and witnessed the events unfold. It is about who has the right to speak truth and help hurting children: families or the government.
