    Episode 15: Smashing the Stereotypes of Solo Female Travel

    Episode 15: Smashing the Stereotypes of Solo Female Travel

    Traveling solo is one of the most rewarding things a person can do. However, when you are a female who enjoys traveling solo, you are hit with loads of stereotypes. From “oh, it’s not safe for women to travel alone” to “you must get really lonely with no friends with you” to “Don’t you have any responsibilities?” - the list of assumptions is endless.

    In today’s episode, we are joined by Sahara Leigh, travel coach and founder of Holistic Mojo as we smash all the stereotypes regarding solo travel. Hear the good, the bad and the ugly of traveling solo plus, learn how you can align your travel experience with passions, instead of doing what society deems as appropriate and safe.

    == About Sahara Leigh ==

    Sahara Leigh is an Alchemist of the Soul.  She teaches folks how to use them everyday, mundane aspects of their lives and selves to create their most magical lives possible.  Using Ayurveda, Energy Work, Movement, and Plant Medicine, Sahara shows you how everything you touch is a tool that moves you closer to, or further from, your Authentic Self.   You can build your dream reality if you know how to use the tools of your life.

    Episode 13: How A Solo Trip To Peru Changed My Life

    Episode 13: How A Solo Trip To Peru Changed My Life

    For many years the idea of going on a solo trip to Peru and Machu Picchu was in my heart and on my mind. Finally, in September 2016 I booked a solo trip to Peru and Machu Picchu. I officially was going to spend 10 days in Peru including a 4-day trek to Machu Picchu with Contiki. My solo trip would be in September of 2017. I had a full year to prepare. The trail runs, stair steppers, and dieting became a way of life. After all, if I was going to push myself to what I thought would just be my physical limit – I was going to be prepared. However, little did I know, my preparation would be derailed and my life would completely fall apart.

    Episode 12: The Creation of Solo Travel Woman

    Episode 12: The Creation of Solo Travel Woman

    Growing up, my father always told me to never wait for anyone when it came to following my dreams.

    We didn’t travel much as a family when I was younger so, as I became an adult it was always something I dreamed of doing. However, I never had anyone to go with, and funding such trips proved to be quite difficult.

    When I started my career in corporate events, I was thrilled to learn of all the opportunities it would give me to travel. What started off as just exploring other cities and states within the US eventually grew to me managing destination events in other countries. Finally, I had a reason to get my passport and travel. As much as this was amazing and I felt so blessed, I was missing out on the experience of traveling for fun and immersing myself in other cultures.

    In today's episode, learn how I grew my passion for travel and what made me start Solo Travel Woman.
