Since the emergence of the internet, pornography has become more and more widely available. A considerable portion (12%) of the internet is devoted to pornography sites, and viewership among adults and minors is on the rise. Today the average age of first exposure to internet porn is currently 11 and all a curious kid has to do is click a button that says Yes, I’m 18 and he or she is in. Kids today will never know the joy and shame of VHS box art, Pay-Per-View or Playboy mail subscriptions. How were you introduced to porn, was it accessible and did you ever get caught? The SR Recap 2020
Peace peace, FAMILY!!!! Welcome to the final episode of The Sophisticatedly Ratchet Podcast for 2020! This year has been a rough one to say the least and the general consensus was to cancel 2020 because of the shenanigans we faced this year. We experienced a Global pandemic that literally reshaped our world- New City was hit extremely hard, racial tensions and police brutality hit a new high pushing the plight of Black people to the front of the conversation in media, President Trump was on 10 with the B******T, and we reluctantly said goodbye to a slew of monumental figures this year to mention a few moments. 2020 gave us a million reasons to be thankful and no one could have seen this coming. So in this episode we take some time to recap our highs and lows of this year. Here at Sophisticatedly Ratchet, we want to thank everyone who has ever listened in and supports us. We are humbled to have gathered listeners from across the globe, from Canada, Austria, UK, Haiti, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, French Gyana to Lithuania, South America and Mexico. And of course, we want to send a big shout out to people in our hometown NEW YORK!!! We appreciate y'all and thanks for making our first year a huge success! Now please pull up, tune in and and join us as we discuss The SR Recap 2020!!! Oh and Happy new year!!!
Who Cooked This?!?!?!
What is popping, Sophisticatedly Ratchet Family?! Welcome to another hearty serving of The Sophisticatedly Ratchet Podcast and today we cooked up an episode on FOOD! Everyones relationship with food is different, we each have unique quirks when it comes to food preferences and tastes. Multiple factors can influence these food quirks like regional location, cultural influence, economic status, general accessibility and exposure to it. Join us as we chop it up about our favorites, worstest & quirkiest foods? Also during the Holiday Season, in the Black Community, sharing food is a staple. However, in an effort to fight the surging increase of CoronaVirus cases, some government officials call for small gatherings or none at all when possible. While fears of exposure to the virus rise, we ask what’s good with potlucks and are those a DUB now? Will we continue to eat from people and continue to eat out? Pull up, tune in and join us as we discuss “Who Cooked this ?!?!?!?!”
Salutations, Sophisticatedly Ratchet family!? Breakups can go a lot of different ways depending on the levels of toxicity in the relationship… (Shameless Plug: Check out Episode 10: Toxic Relationship)... For some people breaking up is like letting go of an important part of your identity and that can be challenging. Over time you might have gotten close with each other’s family, travelled together, made mutual friends, shared life milestones, and even dreams. For others, breakups are painless and as effortless as blinking. On this week’s episode of The Sophisticatedly Ratchet Podcast, we discuss the best way to ease the pain from a break up, what are deal breakers that cause break ups and ask if you can still be friends with an Ex after a breakup? Pull up, tune in and join us as we discuss “Breakups”!
Passion Vs. Addiction
What's good Sophisticatedly Ratchet Family?! On this week’s episode of The Sophisticatedly Ratchet Podcast, we unpack the difference between passion and addiction. Passion derives from intense emotion. When people are passionate it means that they are motivated and willing to go the extra mile to achieve their goal. If people feel a lack of passion for any activity they will usually find it to be dull and tedious. There is no exact definition of addiction that is agreed upon by everyone. Today addiction tends to be overused when referring to relatively harmless overindulgences, or others like use of social media, sex, sugar, or drugs. Have you ever been passionate about something that can be seen as an addiction? Have you ever been guilty of being addicted to Money, Sex, or Drug? Pull up, tune in and join us as we discuss “Passion vs Addiction”!
