Who CAN We Trust With Our Money and Career? (with Dr. Henry Cloud)
Trust. The foundation of modern society is built on it. Today we are fortunate to welcome Dr. Henry Cloud to the Basement to talk about who is actually worthy of our trust and who is not. We'll talk about how we're rightfully reticent to extend trust when our gut says we shouldn't and how we get burned when we let people in who shouldn't be. We also discuss how to help people earn our trust so we have better relationships. Our friend Doc G from the Earn & Invest Podcast helps us out with the interview. You don't want to miss this episode!
In our headline today, would you let your kid jump on his/her phone and go all or none on a sweet straddle on Apple Stock? We learn about a popular broker who's in some regulatory hot water because of some clients who can't (legally) buy alcohol. How do you monitor your devices? We'll share strategies. Plus, we throw out the Haven Lifeline to Stacker Sammy who asked a question about HSAs. Throw in some of Doug's historical trivia, and we've got ourselves a podcast, boys and girls!

What If We Asked, "How Much Do You Earn?" More Often? (with Maya Lau)
Are you down with OPP? Award-winning former investigative journalist for the LA Times Maya Lau joins us to discuss exactly what would happen if we asked people how much money they earned. She's the host of a new podcast about OPP called "Other People's Pockets." She asks the uncomfortable questions about people's money, how they make it, and what they do with it. She shares her experiences with us about pulling back the curtain on the taboo topic of money so that you can feel confident diving into these conversations yourself.
Plus, for today's headline we have a special guest interview with the Chief Gold Strategist for State Street Global Advisors, George Milling-Stanley. We talk about what the Federal Reserve's sustained interest rate hike campaign could mean for the price of gold. What utility does gold have in the real world? Does holding gold (and/or other precious metals) make sense for your portfolio? O.G. also shares his thoughts. Plus we throw out the Haven Lifeline to an semi-anonymous caller with an identity crisis about when it's appropriate to take over someone else's investment decisions.

Do they have a reason to be concerned, or should they mind their own business and let her spend $360 million as she sees fit? Beyond just Cher, we'll explore how involved should we be in our elder loved ones' finances and financial protection. And later, we'll throw out the Haven LifeLine to our friend "Conner" and help him and his wife understand more about what an ESOP is and how it can benefit employees of the companies that offer them

Customer Reviews
The most entertaining finance podcast by far
I always look forward to listening to SB podcasts. I love all the “casts and characters” and their personalities. It is one of the rare finance themed podcasts that my 12 year old would actually enjoy listening to while in the car. Keep up the good work guys!
Fun and helpful!
Stacking Benjamins is my favorite financial podcast. The hosts have a good chemistry together and will make you laugh while teaching you a thing or two about personal finance. There’s plenty of good random stories too if you don’t feel like learning but want to surround yourself with good entertainers. Friday episodesare my favorite when they have guest contributors on like Len Penzo. Keep up the good work!
Educational & Entertaining
I recommend this podcast to anyone that will listen! It has just the right mix of entertainment and education. I listen 3x/week and am proud to say I know too much useless trivia!
