Steampunk for today

Blue Stocking is doing the necessary and important work for steampunk literature with Steampunk Dollhouse. Going beyond the gears and diving deep into themes of the works and, most crucially, showing how they relate to our day-to-day lives. While relishing in the veneer of fanciful escapism, she never forgets the substance and steampunk’s unique ability to make us confront the past while looking at our future. What’s more, this is all done while being funny, relatable and honest.

Educational and Entertaining - Well Done

I subscribed to this podcast since before the first episode was posted, and I am glad that I have. I admit that I have not had much patience with literary podcasts in the past, however this one has been an exception. Bluestocking has never failed to deliver a well-thought-out examination of Steampunk literature. Her insights and perspectives are well articulated and in-depth. These episodes have been enjoyable introductions to new works as well as a fresh perspectives on works already sampled. I do not mind the schedule being inconsistent, as at times I almost prefer a sporadic schedule. As my busy schedule makes reading time a premium, keeping up with a regular schedule that is more frequent would be a challenge. Thus I prefer the quality that Bluestocking provides, for to focus on quantity or a regimented schedule would likely compromise the quality. Rarely is a podcast educational as well as entertaining, yet our host pulls it off quite nicely. This is highly recommended. Cheers, - Tcsgrv Tim

Bluestocking Delivers! Truly Dynamic and Intriguing.

I began listening to this podcast a day or two ago, and I can’t get enough of it! Bluestocking is an inviting host and she’s put a ton of work into her analysis of steampunk stories.

I also enjoy how she shares steampunk-relevant music.
