Chucking Darts Rerun: Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun

Chucking Darts Rerun: Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun

This is an episode I did with @churckingdarts on his show, not an episode of The Stepien NBA Draft Podcast. Because so many people have been asking me for my opinion on Alperen Sengun and I won't have time to do an episode just for him, I got permission from Chuck, of the Chucking Darts Podcast, to re-air our episode on my feed. We talk about Jalen Green and then Alperen Sengun starting at the 56 min mark. Enjoy.

Great Podcast

Easily my favorite NBA draft focused content and a fantastic podcast to listen to.

Terrific content, badly needs editing

First and most importantly, Sean is an awesome evaluator and that’s what we’re here for. This information isn’t available elsewhere and it’s a ton of work.

That said, it’s a real shame that the editing and polish on this podcast is so rough. The ads are just brutal. It’s fine to have ads! Just tell us it’s an ad break instead of literally just throwing them willy nilly into the middle of your sentence at random times like you didn’t even try. It’s really rough and disruptive, especially considering some of the type of ads used.

Overall, more polish is needed. It’s fine if you forget a name- but stop, Google it, get the detail right, and edit it out later. Every episode multiple times I hear “this is not interesting podcasting” while trying to look through notes or find info about an injury or whatever. If you’re not going to be prepared for that info beforehand, fine, but then edit it after and get rid of the fluff taking up space doing nothing. Too often it listens like a rough draft article that was never edited back once by the writer.

The content is AWESOME. One of the best draft evaluators available publicly. Just wish the content was much more consumable.

Outstanding

The only way I can think to describe this is the Ben Taylor/Thinking Basketball of draft analysis. An incredibly thoughtful and objective perspective. While always having context of the situation in mind. Great work
