Disappointing
Are you looking for a riveting conversation detailing the latest in homogeneous solids held together by chemical bonds? Well look somewhere else. Not a single mention of rocks in any episode, Igneous or otherwise. Very disappointing. Think twice before hitting play on this one.
5 stars for production quality though.
Loved the DeNiro episode
Both Ben and Josh consistently express solid critique and informed analysis in their breakdowns of films and music. This stayed true during the recent episodes on the films of Robert DeNiro. So much has been said and written about De Niro, but the podcast didn't feel like it repeated anyone else, and neither host came off as being pretentious or trying too hard to be different in their opinions. It was nice and organic. Love this podcast.
Nuanced discussion cast
I'm really enjoying these concise but informative casts. Between these and the hosts' blogs I always discover a lot of interesting new films or perspectives that I hadn't discovered. This is a must hear cast for deep thinking cinemaphiles.
