Simplifying Money and Taxes for Creatives with Hannah Cole
Navigating the Financial Landscape as a Creative with Hannah Cole (Artist, Tax pro, and Founder of Sunlight Tax).
Most creative brains aren’t skilled at taxes and accounting. Taxes often feel confusing, scary, and overwhelming, but they don’t have to. In the episode, we’ll share insights and advice for creatives on managing their finances and taxes.
Hannah Cole, founder of Sunlight Tax, is a tax expert who specializes in working with creative businesses and mission-driven solopreneurs. A long-time working artist herself, she’s helped tens of thousands of self-employed people skill up with accessible tax and money education, through her Money Bootcamp program, speaking engagements from Florida to Alaska, and on the Sunlight podcast.
Hannah is great at teaching taxes because she’s messed it all up, and been in the ‘bad place.’ She doesn't teach from a place of superiority or judgment, but from a place of understanding.
We discuss the importance of tax education for creative professionals. Hannah shares her journey of transitioning from being an artist to starting her own tax business. She highlights the myths and stumbling blocks that artists and freelancers often face when it comes to money.
Hannah also discusses the challenges of finding balance and setting boundaries between her artistic and accounting pursuits.

Listen If Your Head Is Loud
The Subtle art of not yelling....at yourself.
The voices in our head can get really loud. There's no shortage of opportunities for the internal voices to share unsolicited thoughts.
Where does the voice come from? Why does it get so loud? How does it impact your life and your work?
We share our experience with the voices and how we've managed to turn the yelling into a whisper - most of the time - so we don't get derailed.

Customer Reviews
Cuts Through the Noise
In the world of “SIX FIGURES IN 3 MONTHS!”, the Subtle Art of Not Yelling is a breath of fresh air that is both grounded and expansive. The show provides meaningful insights and truths that help me feel connected to what matters most. Highly recommend this show.
Marketing Advice for the Non-Hustler
I absolutely love this show. Bill and Miles' calm voices are so soothing and their advice is even better. As someone just starting my marketing journey and who has always struggled with the "icks" that seem to come with it, it has been such a blessing to know there are other people who feel the same way. The advice on this show is perfectly tailored for those who hate the hustle, don't have that type A gusto, but still want to genuinely and successfully sell their products. Thank you so much for all you do!
Perfection is Equivalent to Happiness as a noun
Perfection is Boring- really like this episode. Perfection kills the things you love doing that you simply love doing. It ruins the love and makes it an obtainable goal instead. Like Happiness. It’s not something singular. “If I have that, THEN I’ll be happy”. That isn’t happiness. Same as creating a piece of art. Oh, if I can just do THIS, THEN it will be perfect. There is always more and more and more you will find imperfect, and doing that will drive you mad.
You guys are great to listen to!
