The Supersized Physed Podcast is dedicated to providing new ideas, activities and inspiration to our physical education field. Each week a new episode about various physed topics comes out, sometimes with a guest, sometimes it's just me! My goal is to offer inspiration to all sized PE groups, but especially to large groups grades K-5.Our Around the Horn Health and Physed podcast is an ESPN-style show in which panelists answer questions for points in a set amount of time. A winner is declared at the end of each show!

What's up PE Nation!!!
As I'm writing my second book, I'm putting together new concepts to go along with my original PE-9. My second one is "Enjoy the Process". As I came up with ideas for it I thought of Mike Wazowski from "Monster's Inc." and "Monster's University". I'm focusing this podcast on what he did and how he never gave up in MU. Don't forget to "Be like Mike"!

How I Teach Large, Outside PE Classes
What's up PE Nation!!!
I've been thinking about a post in one of the PE groups recently. It was a teacher who was offered a job teaching large (100+) groups at a time. I looked at the previous replies to this post and saw a bunch of people saying "NO WAY! Don't do it", and "That's not legal", and all sorts of things. They're not wrong necessarily, but I have a different perspective on it. Here are some myths and truths and how I run my classes. Andrew, I enjoyed your episode on 3 types of leaders. I wanted you to know I am a PE teacher also and had the micro manager type principal and she also looked for only the negative and not the great things I was doing in my classes. She was toxic not only to me but other teachers.
Though it was not a great experience, I learned so much from it. And really I learned how I didn’t want to treat others as a leader and what the characteristics of a good leader are.
One more thing. I also felt the all too familiar fact that PE was just not a priority to my principal and her vision moving forward. You and I and many other PE teachers fight the good fight everyday for our profession. It is really sad that others are so in the dark about it’s too many to name benefits.
Keep your head up.I have listen to nearly all your podcasts and can tell you are a great teacher and a great individual. We all must take some lumps all along the way and learn from them.
