Awesome podcast
This is my daughter , and her friends podcast. It’s funny , serious at times but overall very entertaining!!!!
this is my favorite show
because it is my show
Excellent film podcast, even better for New Orleans locals.
Swampflix is a wonderful podcast. The hosts are passionate about film and the podcast is clearly a labor of love. The discussions about the films are as intelligent and insightful as any I have ever encountered, including serious critics from publications such as "Film Comment", "The New Yorker", and the "New York Times".
What sets this podcast apart to me is the democratic approach they take to film. From the most experimental international arthouse films to disposable comedy schlock, the hosts analyze each film objectively and do a great job highlighting the positives and negatives of each picture, irregardless of the audience the film may have been "designed for". This non-pretentious approach to film criticism makes the podcast a lot of fun, as the types of films discuss will vary wildly in each podcast. Horror is the clear favorite genre, but the hosts seldom let horror films dominate the discussion.
I can recommend this podcast to any film lover out there. For residents of New Orleans, I recommend this podcast if you have even a modicum of interest in cinema. There is frequent discussion of movies that have received local release, reference to local theaters, and various discussions about goings on around town. As a resident of the city, these local discussions make the podcast that much more enjoyable. For non-residents, these discussions wouldn't turn you off and they'd give you a nice bit a of New Orleans flair.
I can't say enough great things about this podcast. I hope you all continue to put in the good work you've been doing. I think the show is outstanding and I do my best to spread positive word of mouth.
Thanks for the great show.
