    Amy M. Le is a speaker, author and publisher.  She is also the founder of Quill Hawk Publishing. Amy M. Le was born in Vietnam and immigrated to the United States in 1980 at the age of five with her mother and cousin. She graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in Sociology and worked in the technology and telecommunications sector for twenty years. After her mother’s death in February 2017, Amy left her corporate job to write her debut novel SNOW IN VIETNAM as a tribute to her mother’s heroic decision to flee Vietnam after the fall of Saigon. Amy calls the Pacific Northwest and Oklahoma her home. Her greatest joy is spending time with her husband, son, and their pets.

    Amy shares about her realization when she decided to speak and ask for what she wanted which helped become the confident Asian woman that she is today.

SAB continues to be the largest Asian Baking community that is purpose and mission-driven.

    Leslie is the Founder of Reclaiming Your Courage and is the “Self-Defense Mama” . She became the Self-Defense Mama when she made the decision to become the mother she always needed by breaking the cycle of intergenerational trauma. Leslie is a second generation Korean and Chinese American, mother of two and wife. She is a San Francisco native and has been a martial artist for 20 years with a black belt in Tae Kwan Do Hap Kido and Kenpo Karate. Today she is passionate about Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu.  Her mission is to save the lives of womxn. She believes in teaching from a compassionate, trauma-informed perspective that provides a safe space for her clients to heal and root themselves in LOVE and COURAGE.

    Michelle Li is the co-founder of the Very Asian Foundation, which is a nonprofit organization committed to amplifying diverse AAPI voices through education, storytelling, and community connection.  She is also a news anchor for NBC-affiliate KING-TV in Seattle. She is a morning show anchor and co-created and hosted the show Take 5, a daily, hour-long, interactive news show before it sunsetted in 2019.  Michelle has been recognized for leading innovation and audience engagement projects in newsrooms. Google, Poynter, Facebook, and RTDNA have showcased her work in newsrooms across the country.  She has received four national Murrow awards and 9 regional Emmys. Congress also honored her with an Angels in Adoption award for her dedication to international and domestic adoption causes. As a Korean adoptee, Michelle spent many summers volunteering with adoptive families and in orphanages in Seoul. She launched a television program in Missouri to help foster kids find more permanent solutions and spoke at the National Press Club for international adoption awareness.

    Michelle shares her journey about the #VeryAsian movement and the support she has received from the Asian community and the rise of the Very Asian Foundation.  She also shares her own journey to building self confidence to be the powerful Asian woman that she is today.  Happy International Women's Day!
