Hez-eye, Hessy, He-see, Hi-sigh...
It's a good podcast, and the hosts seem pretty knowledgeable (particularly regarding non-movie stories,) but... If you're going to use Japanese terms, look up their pronunciation. Heisei is pronounced "hey-say", and it hurts your credibility each time you mispronounce it. Good show, otherwise.
Knowledgable but very difficult to listen to.
These guys are very passionate about the genre, no doubt about it.
However, it seems that half the time they don't want to be doing a podcast. Some of the hosts sound disinterested or say little about a particular topic.
On top of that, it is tough to listen to. There are long moments of dead air where no one says something and one of the main hosts seems uncomfortable when this happens. Not only that, the most frustrating thing, as a listener, is that the same people can't be heard that well.
I believe they are using Skype, but, for whatever reason, they always have problems with it. Two out of the three hosts are so tough to listen to that their speech breaks in and out. Once in a while the main host has to ask them to repeat themselves, but, strangely, doesn't at other times. It makes me wonder if they don't care about the quality of their audio, because this has not been addressed, nor mentioned, as they have progressed.
I, also, have never listened to a podcast where the hosts talk over each other so often. It's bad enough you can't hear two-thirds of the hosts. It's another thing when they all try to talk over each other. I honestly found myself getting upset while listening to the podcast. Have a system in place where people can give some initial thoughts, then begin a discussion; or find some way of keeping it in partial order.
These guys have a terrific Website that I suggest everyone should visit, but their podcast, very sadly, is utter garbage despite some of the great knowledge they have. You simply can't hear these guys most of the time. Sadly, I won't be listening to these guys again.
