    TokuNet Podcast #74 – We’re Back!

    TokuNet Podcast #74 – We’re Back!

After a long, impromptu hiatus, the TokuNet Podcast is back!

A lot has happened in the tokusatsu world over the last year or so since our last podcast episode. So we brought the crew back together to talk about some of the highlight stories of the year along with more current topics such as Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: Once and Always, the Ultraman Blazar announcement, and the release of Shin Kamen Rider in Japanese theaters and the upcoming US screening (recorded before the initial screening). We also delve into deeper topics such as the recent boom of tokusatsu localizations in the West, how Super Sentai has been experimenting with their format for the past several years, and our thoughts on the Reiwa era Kamen Rider shows thus far.
It's a jam-packed episode and we hope that you enjoy is as much as we enjoyed recording it. Let us know your thoughts on any of the topics discussed in this episode. And come back next episode when we share our review of Shin Kamen Rider!

TokuNet Podcast #71 – Tokusatsu News Highlights (Sept. 2021)

TokuNet Podcast #71 – Tokusatsu News Highlights (Sept. 2021)

On this month's episode of the TokuNet Podcast, we discuss some of the biggest tokusatsu news items of the past month.

This month, we're trying something a bit different with the podcast. Instead of focusing on a specific topic for the episode, we wanted to try doing a bit of a tokusatsu news roundup for the previous month (at the time of recording, that would have been September 2021). So, in this episode we talk about Shin Kamen Rider, LGBTQIA representation in Power Rangers Dino Fury, Kaizoku Sentai 10 Gokaiger, and Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Destined Crossroad along with a couple other topics.
Let us know what you think of this format and if you have any suggestions for news items you'd like to hear us discuss in a future episode, leave a comment down below!

In this episode of the TokuNet Podcast, Team TokuNet talks about the recently completed show, Kamen Rider Saber.
As a new season of Kamen Rider begins, we wanted to take some time to share our thoughts on the most recent season that ended, Kamen Rider Saber. TokuNet Podcast #69 - Late Night Tokusatsu

In episode 69 of the TokuNet Podcast, the team discusses the sub genre of tokusatsu shows that aired after midnight in Japan.
While a majority of the tokusatsu shows that we consume air either in the morning or evening, there are a handful of shows that air after midnight that are aimed at older toku fans. Shows such as GARO, Akibaranger, Kamen Rider Amazons, Sh15uya, etc.. Team TokuNet gets together to talk about the differences between these shows and your typical morning tokusatsu shows as well as going over some of their favorite late night tokusatsu shows.
