    THE NFL KNEEL DOWN

    A few weeks ago Leroy Barber, founder of the Voices Project (#nflkneeldown) joined me and my Dad for brunch to talk about the NFL and just how significant Colin Kaepernick’s “taking a knee” really is. Leroy Barber has dedicated more than 28 years to eradicating poverty, confronting homelessness, restoring local neighborhoods, healing racism, and living what Dr. King called “the beloved community.” Yesterday, the President of the United States, referred to the men who take a knee during the singing of the national anthem as “sons of bitches”…this is just the beginning. STAY WOKE.

This Funky Child continues to rock the mic on and off the stage with his lyrical talents however, recently he's jumped in to the political arena, as well. This brother is a Leader that literally lives the mantra of being the change you want to see in the world. And, to ensure that these changes are made, Du is currently running for City Councilman in his hometown of Newark, NJ.
