#41 Erin Keatch: Caravan and Company | The impact that fast fashion has had on smaller brands | How fast fashion takes advantage of people from poorer countries | The power of collaboration

In this episode, I am joined by Erin Keatch. Erin is the founder of Caravan and Company, an accessories brand that sources products made by women artisan-lead businesses globally. She has always believed in the importance of supporting women and celebrating their craftwork and business acumen.

    We talk about:

    · The impact that fast fashion has had on smaller brands

    · The power of collaboration and honouring the craft of women from indigenous communities.

    · How fast fashion takes advantage of people from poorer countries who have so little in the first place.

I’ve been wanting to tackle this issue for a while, but it was a case of finding the right person. If you enjoy the episode pls share it with your friends and do leave a review and rating on Apple Podcasts. Also, don’t forget to subscribe.

#40 Ruby Renaut: WUKA | Period stigma | Young girls in West Nepal separated from families whilst on period | Why are sustainable products taxed?

In this episode, I’m joined by Ruby Renaut, founder of WUKA, an ethically and sustainably sourced brand that creates the most beautifully designed period products. WUKA stands for Wake-Up Kick-Ass and is on a mission to break down body and period taboos, emphasising that periods are not shameful.
Ruby grew up in Nepal. She shares her experience of Nepalese culture where girls are seen to be untouchable whilst on their period and therefore separated from their families.
She has also launched a campaign calling on the government to remove the tax on period pants which is still an ongoing battle.
Both ruby’s story and mission is fascinating and I hope that you enjoy listening. If you do gain value from this episode, pls share it with your friends, loved ones and do leave a cheeky review and rating on Apple podcasts. Also, don’t forget to subscribe.

#39 Saqib Rizvi: Meditation Coach | The three types of spiritual ego | Non Attachment to stay present | Misconceptions about manifestation

In this episode, I am joined by Saqib Rizvi. Saqib is a Meditation Coach with training in the Mahayana tradition-based Tibetan meditations from the Tushita Meditation Centre in India.

I invited Saqib on to the podcast because having meditated with him, I wanted to hear all about his journey, but I wanted to home in on managing our energy in current times considering what’s going on around us.

In addition, though, we ended up delving into all sorts of juicy topics:

The three types of spiritual ego-you’ll really want to hear this.
Nonattachment in order to stay present
    Misconceptions around manifestation

If you enjoy the episode, I’d love you to go and leave a review and rating on Apple Podcasts. Also, don’t forget to subscribe.

    More about Saqib:

#38 Georgio Savvides: The Hip Hop Orchestra | An artists vision: Going from concept to reality | Success in spite of Dyspraxia | Giving it all up to follow your dreams

Georgio Savvides is the founder of the hip-hop orchestra. Himself a classically trained pianist, composer, producer, teacher and host of the hip-hop orchestra podcast, The hip hop orchestra was born from Georgio’s mission to change the perceptions of both Classical and Hip-Hop. There is something so spiritual and intense about combining these two genres of music. I’d love to know what you think.

Since its birth in 2012, the orchestra has worked with some of the UK’s biggest Grime and Rap Artists such as Lethal Bizzle, AJ Tracey, Jammer of BBK, Big Zuu and Jevon, They’ve performed at Maida Vale Studios for BBC 1Xtra and Sian Anderson, the 02, Ministry of Sound, The Jazz Café, Hackney Empire and The Palladium. Georgio is also a TED speaker.

This episode is about vision. Having a vision and then making that vision your reality. Like pure alchemy, combining different ingredients and ending up with a pot of gold.

If you enjoy the episode guys, I’d love you to go and leave a review and rating on Apple Podcasts. Also, don’t forget to subscribe.
