Goff, Jr. (PhD, University of Arkansas, 1987) is Chair and Professor of History at Appalachian State University.  He is the author of Fields White Unto Harvest:  Charles F. Parham and the Missionary Origins of Pentecostalism (Arkansas, 1988) and Close Harmony:  A History of Southern Gospel (UNC, 2002) as well as numerous scholarly and popular articles.
