AOC immigration
The problem with AOC’s solution is that she is advocating flipping a switch and simply making all illegal immigration legal.
The reality is that our legal immigration system is broken. It is easier to come into the country illegally than it is to come in legally.
Step One:
Fix the legal immigration system.
Streamline the process so it is easier than the illegal process.
Should not take longer than 30 days.
Should not be expensive.
Not open immigration as there should be some restrictions, but easier immigration.
Step Two:
Continue to deport illegal immigrants.
Do not reject an illegal immigrant who voluntarily leaves and applies legally.
Reject illegal immigrants who are deported involuntarily (after step two begins and after a short defined period to let illegal immigrants leave).
Step Three:
Define rules where rejected illegal immigrants can reapply.
Impose penalties for illegal immigrants who violate immigration laws.
I don’t trust these people.
How are they funded?
