Romain Ballet is a hero among us T1s.  If it's not his unwavering advocacy, then it's his incredible endurance or perhaps even his work in immunology.  Romain and I discuss his recent Ironman finish and cover his training for the upcoming NYC marathon.  As a member of The Beyond Type Run Team, Romain enters the weekend at the height of T1 diabetes sport.  Donate to his fundraiser if you can:

    Episode 24- Casey Schwenk

    Episode 24- Casey Schwenk

Proud to bring you all the story of Casey Schwenk.  From running to cycling, Casey leads by example by running and paving the way for T1s all of the world.  Casey doesn't let T1 limit him in any way.  Living out of an RV and travel/working around the west coast, he runs fearless and taught me a thing a two about the courage it takes to do what we all do...run and act like T1 ain't no thang.  Cheer him on at the San Fran Marathon July 29th.

    Episode 21- Josh Reese

    Episode 21- Josh Reese

This week I bring Josh Reese on the show.  Josh was diagnosed with T1 in his teens, after his T1 mother routinely checked his blood sugar. Since his diagnoses Josh has been pretty distant from the T1 community, but now finds himself trying to get more involved with others, especially other T1 runners.  If you're in the Knoxville area, please help me convince Josh to start his own chapter.

A Must Listen for Diabetics

As a runner, I’m constantly reading articles, watching videos and listening to podcasts for tips and motivation. But each one requires an added level of thought to figure out how it would apply to my body. As a Type 1 diabetic, this podcast not only cuts through that added step, but provides a sense of community and commonality. I love the show and look forward to every new episode.

Relatable, Motivating, and Entertaining

In short, I highly recommend this to any athlete diabetic or not. Any athlete facing challenges will find this podcast insightful and motivating. Above all, it’s not only informational, but it’s entertaining and relatable.

I am not a diabetic, but stumbled upon this podcast in search of running motivation. I thought I’d give it a quick listen and found myself captivated by the interview in the first podcast. Although, my struggles are distinct, I completely related and identified with Jon’s experiences. I’m eagerly awaiting the progression of this podcast.
