Customer Reviews
This podcast gave language to the grieving and growing that I was feeling in my Spirit
Have you experienced a Holy Dissatisfaction with the church as you know it? (The institutional church) Have you had a hard time articulating that strong calling to leave the church? Felt like it was disobedient to stay? Even though you left your church, you still love THE CHURCH? Been labeled fallen, lost, divisive, toxic etc. if you expressed this or actually left your church? BINGE THIS PODCAST NOW!!! Then share it and share some more. Leaving the church was the hardest thing I ever had to do! It was never part of the plan. EVER. I was on staff, led many ministries and was even an elder within my church. God starting changing my heart on this matter back in 2017. This has been such a long process. Lonely. Painful. Constantly being misunderstood. Everyone thought I was taking the “easy” way out. Let me tell you, even though I was busting my butt with many ministries and often run too ragged to enjoy time at home with my family much of the time-the old way was still the “easy” way. At times it felt like Egypt. Can I just go back to what was easy and familiar because it was all I’d ever known?! That kinda thing. Richard and Gunnar were the “oasis in the desert” with this podcast. I felt seen, heard, loved. And also, not crazy. Lol. They are both so humble. So gracious. It’s not an us vs. them approach. I truly appreciated that this was not just a bashing of what the institutional gets wrong. I spent enough time wallowing in that space on my own, lol. It’s about seeking the kind of church we read about in Acts. The kind of church body that Jesus desired for us to build and be a part of. Richard and Gunnar absolutely sought AND HEARD from the Lord on this matter. Give it a listen and a share.
I am not alone!
I’ve struggled in institutional churches since 2013. My experiences went from bad to worse.
I see the problems but no ones listening. The book and these podcasts have shown me I’m not losing my faith and I’m not alone.
Now I’ve become empowered and am now having gatherings in my home!
A podcast of Hope!
God has had me on the ‘churching scavenger hunt’ for 15 years now. I am so grateful for this podcast as how it is helping functionality place Christ as the Church for many who are ‘done’ with its institution.
