The wine podcast

I listened with great interest about the way wine is made in the US. Was quite shocked to hear about the additives. At the end of the podcast I was thrilled to hear this organic wine was being sold for 1 penny! Absolutely thrilled.

So then, I go to the web page to get my 1 cent bottle of organic wine. But here is the thing, yes you can get a 1 cent bottle of wine BUT in order to get it, you have to sign up for a monthly subscription for $156 per month! Hmmm, let’s see, $156 x 12 months = $1,872 a year! The good news is that after spending $156 a month or $1,872 a year I can get one bottle of wine for 1 penny.

Are you kidding me? I am so disappointed in The Urban Monk.

Back to the old saying ‘If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is not true’.

I like it!

Yeah, honestly stumbled upon this guy by total random chance as I saw a random stranger who I didn't even know talk about it on facebook, you know, one of those friends that friended you and you didn't even really know them, but I did recognize the face.

Anyways, I like it for the simple fact that it is modern wellness addressing the problems of old and aging wellness practices. I'm not gonna dive into the description of the show, you'll get that from one episode.

The latest episode spawned me to write this. On addressing how disconnected we are from relationships and nature because of technology. Going back in the other direction will not be the long-term answer We need to fuse the two. One thing he said was that if you give your partner hundreds of "micro-touches" throughout the day, essentially easy things, we could address so many ugly relationship problems etc. But what if we did that through more intensive versions of facebook's "poke" system.

Like when we guess a trivia answer about our partner "what is was her favorite part about the trip you took in June?" and you get it right then you get two poke points to give her. And once she gets enough poke points from you then it unlocks a virtual kiss video where her avatar comically indulges your avater with kisses.

Yes, it's all virtual, but in doing that it will then lead to higher "pokes" in the real world. Anyways, that's what I got right now!
