Jasmine and Michael are charming to listen to, but I often get frustrated at the lack of attention to detail and surface-level analysis of the show. They often can’t even remember secondary character names or past-season events that tie into the current action, so I’m becoming “that guy” verbally correcting them on errors and oversights while driving alone in my car (womp womp). There is a lot of depth and quality of writing/character development to The Walking Dead that, unfortunately, is lost on most viewers, and these podcasters are no different. I listen to TV-based podcasts to expand my depth of understanding and uncover details I missed, not for a basic play-by-play of each episode without insightful discussion.
Like I said, they’re charming and I mean no offense, but I always hope to find quality podcasts and appreciate honest reviews that point me in the right direction. If you don’t pay much attention when watching and like to jog your memory on basic plot points, this is a fun listen. If you’re an invested fan, it will be frustrating for you.
