The Science of ASMR (And People Who Hate It)

The Science of ASMR (And People Who Hate It)

This week, we have a very special episode all about the science behind the autonomous sensory meridian response, a.k.a. ASMR. While people who experience ASMR feel extremely pleasant and satisfying tingles when hearing their trigger sounds—which often include hair brushing, nail tapping, chewing, and whispering—another group can hear the same sounds and become filled with anxiety and rage. Eleanor, Rachel, and Amy dig into Eleanor's feature package all about these phenomena, which appears in the winter issue of Popular Science.

I love!!

My new favorite podcast!

Tricky Vicky Nicky ,

Fun Facts for weirdos!

I love love love this podcast! The banter between the hosts is hysterical! They make learning weird facts fun.

Sheltie1pitbull2 ,

Ok

Some of the material repeats from other podcast series. The hosts sound like giddy schoolgirls. If they aren’t familiar with a topic, their approach to researching it is shallow. They never bother to learn how to pronounce new words. That said, overall it’s entertaining.
