    People-first digital transformation in the NHS, with Georgina Charlton

    In this episode of the Women in Health Tech Show, I speak to Georgina Charlton, Associate Director of Delivery at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and a former diagnostic radiographer, to discuss her path into NHS transformation and digital health leadership within the Apollo programme. Georgina explains why successful change depends on early stakeholder engagement, multidisciplinary ways of working, and psychologically safe cultures, drawing on her experience as an award-winning Freedom to Speak Up Guardian. She reflects on implementing an electronic patient record, emphasising adoption, benefit realisation, and return on investment, while noting behavioural, accessibility, risk, and financial pressures unique to healthcare.     Transforming patient care with AI, with Lyndsey Reeves

    In this episode of the Women in Health Tech Show, I speak to Lyndsey Reeves, Head of Transformation at Skin Analytics. Lyndsey discusses her career trajectory from a dentist to a digital transformation leader within healthcare. She shares her experiences leading groundbreaking digital projects like AI-supported cancer detection in the NHS, the challenges of implementing technology in healthcare, and the importance of compassionate leadership. Lyndsey also emphasizes the significance of human connections in her work and personal life, highlighting her volunteer efforts with perinatal mental health support and training as a doula. The conversation explores the need for sustainable, long-term changes in the NHS, and the role of technology in addressing workforce shortages and improving patient care.    Lyndsey Reeves has a desire to bring meaningful patient-centered care to healthcare services. She started her career as a dentist, and over the last 20 years she's moved into commissioning and operational leadership roles in order to make change at a system level to shape how patients experience care. She's been fortunate to lead some exciting work in digital transformation, including the first enhanced primary care service to offer direct booking from NHS 111, Pandemic Response Services and Nationwide Primary Care Services. She's now focused on safely and thoughtfully introducing AI supported cancer detection into the NHS to improve outcomes for patients. She's passionate about creating healthcare that genuinely makes a difference to people's lives, and that works for whole communities, not just systems. Outside work, she's a single parent, a keen triathlete.  - she recently completed her first half Iron Man and a trained doula.     Changing health outcomes through the Holly Health app, with Grace Gimson

Grace shares her journey from growing up in a tech-savvy family to creating Holly Health, which has supported over 70,000 NHS patients. She discusses the challenges and successes of integrating technology with psychology, the importance of small, sustainable changes, and expanding Holly Health beyond the NHS. The episode also delves into the significance of networking and overcoming gender bias in the tech and investment spaces. Grace Gimson is Founder and CEO of Holly Health, a fully digital yet compassionate health coaching service, which helps people to feel physically and mentally better. Grace's career spans operations, product and leadership, including roles at Microsoft, Deliveroo, and Scape, which was acquired by Facebook. From growing up in a family of engineers, Grace knew the power of technology and set her sights on combining her passions of psychology and accessible technology to create something impactful for the population. In 2020, Grace partnered with a team of psychology and product experts to bring science-based personalized health coaching to the public through Holly Health.     Bringing transformative technology to the NHS, with Dr. Reggie Sangha

She also recollects the impact of her time at university, her move into leadership roles, and the importance of seizing opportunities. Dr Reggie Sangha has had a career spanning frontline medical primary care over decades  and delivering  large scale access projects  into challenging healthcare spaces like urgent care, health in justice and also to the latest models of future tech- such as virtual wards/connected communities and supporting citizens to live at home via  'smart tech' enabled cities. She has a proven track record in delivering innovative pilots into practical commercial offerings for the NHS,  as part of the teams she has worked with. She currently works at Content Guru which is a UK Headquartered – global cloud communications software business, co-founded by the Taylor brothers in the early 90s, Content Guru is part of the Redwood Technology group. It provides national infrastructure cloud resilience to multiple industry sectors - including blue light mission critical services for the NHS. Her latest role is working as their Medical Director and also the Clinical Safety officer for their newer Generative Ai applications and other emerging technologies.     Creating connections in health innovation, with Professor Joann Rhodes

    In this episode of the Women in Health Tech Show, I speak to Professor Joann Rhodes, Chief Executive of HIRANI. We discuss Joann's career trajectory from a cellular pharmacologist to leading health research and innovation in Northern Ireland. Highlights include her work in developing immunomodulation therapies, brokering major industry-academic partnerships, and her pivotal role in setting up the 1.3 billion neurodegeneration R&D labs at the Francis Crick Institute. Joann also shares insights into moving to Northern Ireland pre-pandemic, the importance of building strong networks, and her drive to make a significant impact on healthcare ecosystems.   Professor Joann Rhodes is Chief Executive of HIRANI, driving collaborative health research and innovation across Northern Ireland from lab to clinic to home. A former cellular pharmacologist at Imperial College, she helped develop immunomodulation therapies for COPD and clinical biomarker rationales for multiple novel therapeutics. Since 2011 she's brokered major industry–academic partnerships, including the £16M US–UK Pfizer Rare Diseases Consortium, and served as Chief of Staff at Merck UK R&D (2018–2020) to launch the £1.3B neurodegeneration R&D labs at the Francis Crick Institute.
