Coronavirus!!! - A Conversation with Alli Elizabeth and David Haack

Well... here we are! Took a few weeks off... cause... CORONAVIRUS!
Alli and I are self-isolating together and we decided to plug up the mics and dig into all the things we are feeling and going through with our industry being shut down in the midst of a global pandemic. We talk how we are and aren't staying creative, how this has effected us, and what steps we've taken to stay afloat in all this uncertainty. Check out the full show notes for links to some of the websites we mention in the pod, and hope you are staying in, staying healthy, and staying safe.

Make Love Great Again - A Conversation with Alina Robert

Make Love Great Again - A Conversation with Alina Robert

I met Alina Robert in the summer of 2016, when we were both cast as romantic leads opposite one another in a film that was then called, "Bruno & Naomi's Blind Date." Fast forward 3 1/2 year later, and we've had that film wrap, then add rewrites and reshoots for additional scenes, then tour with Film Festival appearances, and now ultimately it's on HBO!! "Make Love Great Again" - the final title of the same film - is airing live at least 5 times just this month of March, and it's also streaming on HBO GO and HBO NOW. It's been a crazy ride, and both Alina and I learned so much from this experience, that I suppose it should be no surprise that our conversation veered into those experiences we shared and the lessons we learned from it all.
Alina is infectious and an incredibly focused and talented artist. I could not have asked for a better partner in that film, and could not have asked for a better friend to have made through this whole process as well. Hope you enjoy our deep dive into our story of filming a movie together, showing up for each other each and every day, and making something special when we had no idea it would end up where it has. Enjoy!!

Feed Your Soul - A Conversation with Myk Watford

Feed Your Soul - A Conversation with Myk Watford

My guest this week is Myk Watford, a friend of mine who will absolutely blow your mind with his insight and wisdom from years and years of being a working actor at an extremely high level. I've been so excited to talk to Myk since I decided to make this Podcast happen, and this was the week that the stars aligned and we were able to make it happen!
Myk is so accomplished that there's no way I could list out all of his credits for you, but just to name a few... you've seen him most recently as Little Jackie in "The Kitchen" with Melissa McCarthy, Elizabeth Moss and Tiffany Haddish. He was in "True Detective" Season 3, "Breaking Bad," "Law and Order SVU" and pretty much every other cop acronym show on television (no joke), "Spiderman," "True Blood", "Justified,"" Longmire," "Scandal" and so so many more.
Myk and I dive into his background as a highly skilled and trained theater actor and Shakespearian performer growing up and the transition he made into film and television where he has made his living for over 20 years. Myk is also a musician and performs with his band Stumpwaller around the country, so we share a kinship there as well. We've actually performed together in LA a few times and I highly recommend you check out his band if you get a chance. It's an experience!
I know you're going to gain so much perspective from Myk's wisdom and kindness that he expresses in this conversation, so get your popcorn and sit back and relax and enjoy this chat!

Production & Crew Perspective - A Roundtable Discussion with Charles J. Malone & Alli Elizabeth

Production & Crew Perspective - A Roundtable Discussion with Charles J. Malone & Alli Elizabeth

In my TENTH episode, I decided to try something different, and I'm really glad I did! This chat has a bit of a different format, and we tackle the same concepts we have through the past 9 conversations, but through the lens of a producer and a makeup artist, and in more of a roundtable style of discussion between the three of us. I loved this conversation, and I know you will too.
Charles J. Malone is a producer, writer, director, and more, and a good friend of mine. Alli Elizabeth is an incredibly talented and accomplished makeup artist, and just so happens to also be my fiancé. We have all worked together to bring projects to life in the past, and are looking to do the same with some more projects in the future. The insights you'll gain from hearing about the Industry from their perspectives will be so helpful for anyone trying to navigate a career as an actor, or for those of you just curious about how things like tv, film, commercials, etc get made. I'm so fortunate to have these two in my life, and I'm really excited for them to be the first of many conversations with people in the industry that aren't actors, but have a whole lot of knowledge and insight to share with actors through their own experiences. So... here we go!! Happy listening my friends!!

Find Your Voice - A Conversation with Owen Thomas

Find Your Voice - A Conversation with Owen Thomas

I had such a wonderful time chatting with my guest this week, Owen Thomas. Owen is an all around amazing human who just so happens to also be incredibly talented. If you've played a video game in the last decade or so, you've probably encountered a character whose voice was supplied by Owen. He's had an enviable career in all areas of voice over, and we dove deep into that world in our conversation. Hope you all enjoy the chat as much as I did!

Take Control of Your Career - A Conversation with Josh Casaubon

Take Control of Your Career - A Conversation with Josh Casaubon

Josh kinda summed it up best in this episode when he said, “It’s interesting that your podcast is called ‘The Working Actor Podcast’ because I think… it’s easy to forget that you can be super grateful to just be a working actor. And that it can be that simple.”
My conversation with Josh was so impactful to me, that I'm certain it will be to all who take the time to listen as well. Josh has been a working actor for over 15 years, and his job as the voice of Dodge changed Josh's life and allowed him to re-evaluate how he looked at the rest of his career in terms of what he wanted out of his career and his life. Josh is a father, a husband, and an artist, and his journey recently took him from NYC to Los Angeles and then now to France. He has taken a purposeful break from on-camera opportunities to just do his Dodge gig from across the pond while living a different kind of life with his family. And that perspective is so unique and so interesting to explore that this conversation stands out to me in such a powerful way. So grab your favorite snack or grip the wheel tight if you're driving, and enjoy our deep dive into the life of another working actor with my conversation with Josh Casaubon!

So Inspiring

This podcast is so much fun to listen to! The conversation’s flow so naturally, but there are also some really amazing perspectives on the industry itself and what it takes to make it as a successful actor working in the business. :) Can’t wait to hear next weeks episode!
