Customer Reviews
Excited for more!
The adaptation of the mysterious card was of good quality. I was hooked from the start. Some of the scenes in sort of the climax were a bit cheesy, but not easy to do well over audio and was understandable. The ending was chilling... I can’t wait to see what else is done by this group! If it will be anything like their first project, it will be worth the listen.
Not the right medium or material
A horror story based on the appearance of something doesn’t translate easily to audio drama podcast format. In this show, in order to persuade us that the reactions are justified, they’ve chosen acting that is way over the top. While a show like The Phenomenon manages “visual horror” with excellent choice of martial and clever adaptation, this one really misses the mark for me. Plus, the many racisms in the source material make it a no go.
Amazing Production
Great production value, and a well-written adaptation of the original story. Voice talent all top-notch. As I started listening to The Mysterious Card, I thought there was no way the author could actually make the Card live up to the horrible effect it has on people, and yet, Moffett did. Very creepy, and thought-provoking in the moral implications of the ending.
