Best Blogging Podcast Ever

If you have a blog you owe it to yourself to listen to Theory of Content.

Amber and Josh give their listeners a wealth of information about search optimization and how to create good content in general.

I’ve listened to each show multiple times and it’s changed how I view my site and what I’m doing.

I actually have an inkling now of how to do keyword research by using google search console or webmaster tools.

And the way they present the information is fun!

Take it with a grain of salt

I wanted to like this but Josh doesn’t completely know what he’s talking about and doesn’t always give great advice. Sometimes it seems like he makes up answers rather than research the subject.

I’ve heard him say robots.txt is where you add 301 redirects, using a CDN is the same as caching, and various other things that just aren’t true.

Recently someone asked about his stance on disavowing bad backlinks and he went through an entire explanation of how to check your site for broken links.

I hear questionable info on every show. That’s not to say there isn’t anything helpful here but Josh doesn’t have a solid grasp on SEO/SEM and you have to know enough to know when to disregard his advice.
