Introducing THERAPY OF DANCE, IN CONVERSATION, our podcast where we normalise mental wellbeing. Created by Elise Mireille and Ella Newell, here we’re sharing stories of our own self inquiry, with the help of health professionals that we’ve met along the way.
Episode 24: IN CONVERSATION with Carla Maria de Souza, Founder of Project Trës
Carla is the founder of Project Três, which is a non for profit organisation in India and Kenya that began in 2016. Project Tres believes that providing education on fair trade and self-sustainability is the key to creating life-changing economic and social opportunities.
Episode 23: IN CONVERSATION with Irena & Tina Ateljevic of Terra Meera, Regeneration Centre
Welcome back to THERAPY OF DANCE. Today we’re in conversation with Mother and Daughter, Irena and Tina Ateljevic, who have created and grown Terra Meera, the Centre for Regeneration and Human Potential, which is their project that lives nearby the Kr Kr National Park in Croatia.
Dr Irena Ateljevic is Terra Meera’s visionary. She is an acclaimed academic and researcher in the fields of sustainable development through individual empowerment and community. Irena firmly believes in connecting theory with practice. Her 20 years experience has led her to express passion for social justice and human development in numerous projects on economic and social transformation. She’s worked all over the world, from her home in Croatia, to New Zealand and the South Pacific, China and India too.
We’re also joined by her daughter Tina Ateljevic, who among other projects in Berlin exploring empowerment, works alongside her mother on Teera Meera in Croatia. We were connected through Lula Dahringer, our recent podcast guest, and her documentary Transmodernity, where Tina and Irena’s story and knowledge is shared. Don’t forget to rate, review and subscribe to this podcast! Enjoy :)
Episode 22: IN CONVERSATION with Seán Gallen, Writer & Musician
Welcome back to THERAPY OF DANCE. Today we’re IN CONVERSATION with Berlin based artist Seán Gallen, who is a Writer & Musician. He's half irish and half French and recently published in the Irish Times pieces titled “I was six when I was first called the N word in Ireland” and “How long will you fight racism?”.
Episode 21: Daisy Clementine Douglas, Evolutionary Astrologer
Daisy practices evolutionary astrology - which uncovers the souls lessons and evolution through the birth chart - including the unresolved karmic pattern you were born with, and how you may still be living out this habitual ‘shadow’ side. We unpacked what a birth chart actually is, where this practice came from and how we can work with our soul blueprint to better understand ourselves and empower those around us.
BONUS EPISODE: Elise & Ella unpack 'The Mindfulness Conspiracy' by Ronald Purser
Has mindfulness been sold as a force that helps us to cope with the ravages of capitalism? Elise & Ella sat down to challenge each other with a discussion in response to an insightful and thought provoking piece Ronald Purser wrote for The Guardian last year.
Building on our idea of #reformingactivism thanks to @formdancewear and how we create change in our local communities, we considered ideas such as mindful activism and meditative action in this podcast episode.
Here at TOD, we believe there are so many benefits to mindfulness, although we enjoyed unpacking all of its criticisms, plus we asked our resident psychologists Jennie, Leni & Nora to weigh in on our discussion too.
Episode 18: IN CONVERSATION with Lula Dahringer, 'Transmodernity' Documentary Director
'Transmodernity' is a documentary about change makers that challenge the current system by exploring new possibilities for transitioning into a new paradigm with alternative social, economic and cultural approaches.
