There and Gone: South Street covers the case of Richard Petrone and Danielle Imbo. Richard and Danielle were last seen leaving a bar in Philadelphia only to never be seen again. Nearly two decades later, they have never been found. Unlike most cases, there is not a single piece of physical evidence. But the FBI knows there was foul play. In There and Gone: South Street, the podcast team opens their own investigation on Richard and Danielle’s case with unprecedented access and cooperation from the FBI. Listeners will also hear from the family of the missing, close friends who were the last to see Richard and Danielle as well as local law enforcement, who continue to be haunted by this case nearly two decades later. This podcast will seek to find answers to this decades long cold case in an effort to bring justice to Richard and Danielle’s families.

I liked it!

I like long form podcasts, especially involving unsolved crimes. I appreciated the amount of time spent speaking with family and friends. I also think it’s awesome that the FBI participated and sees the value in podcast journalism. I could’ve done without the twist in episode 9. Otherwise, it was an easy listen, gave a lot of insight and was well produced. I’m a fan of Andrea Gunning and will continue to enjoy her work.
Absolutely amazing story and superb journalism!

Excellent on all fronts. Thank you for this work for justice for these families and the community that was home to both the beautiful human beings who were victims in this case and the individuals directly and tangentially involved in their murder.
Episode 9 ruins it

A psychic medium? What a joke.
No real investigation

I’m from the Philly area and have been interested in this case for a while. I was disappointed when I made it to the end and realized that no deeper dive or real investigation took place as part of this podcast. Nothing new was uncovered that you couldn’t already find out from a past article regarding this case. Too much time is spent on the emotions of family members or a rehash by the FBI agent, but no additional work was done to garner new leads. If the FBI thinks this is a murder for hire case then why not throw out all the info they have so far? It’s been 20 years and really the public has nothing to go on to jog their memory or tear this case wide open. Also, why are so many people speaking off the record and the information can’t be revealed? After 20 years, how cowardly are you that you can’t step up and say something that could help? Maybe it’s just poor investigatory work as well as sometimes people need convincing. I’m glad that this podcast is keeping their story alive but so much more could have been done with this to try to figure out what happened.
