On March 31st, 1939 20th Century Fox released Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES - starring Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes.
The mystery begins as Charles Baskerville is found dead in his garden - his face contorted into a grimace of sheer terror.
Sherlock is hired to investigate whether the man's death is the result of a legendary family curse - a demonic dog that is believed to have been killing members of the Baskerville family for hundreds of years.
But the detective soon discovers that his own life is in mortal danger.
