I still remember the conversations at IYA Buea. The chats about business and creation, while walking down Mile 17. The fast cars whizzing by as we detailed plans of taking over an unbridled world.
The amazing thing about living in a country like Cameroon, is how much you can enjoy people who both look and sound like you, but who are from completely different worlds.
Hamlet was one. He still remains. We collaborated on projects and just really enjoyed each other's company. Like many creative entrepreneurs in the country, he'd had to rise from failure after failure with the same enthusiasm. He had to build his armor, wear his own skin and walk his talk.
This episode is just a part of what I feel right now. There's still a lot to unpack and it may take a long time.
That's why these episodes have become a respite. I know no one is listening or reading ( if you are, then reading this would be super awkward for us both) and I also know that my promise to make 100 episodes is something I can control.
I am gaining the freedom I want, one episode at a time.
In a time when I feel disgusted by the man in the mirror, this small aspect of control gives me exponential confidence to carry on with what awaits me.
