    Shady Politics

    Shady Politics

As we are ALL still reeling from the results of the 2020 presidential election, our QPOC fam dissects the early returns, shares how they participated in this year’s election, and discuss what the future of the political world is looking like for us. We also take time to celebrate the many LGBTQ+ folks who recently won both local and national elections in the U.S. We might not have had the “Blue Wave” we were hoping for, but we definitely got some kind of rainbow wave.

    WAP: Black Woman Empowerment

    WAP: Black Woman Empowerment

Gobble me, swallow me, drip down the side of me...that’s right y’all, today we are talking about none other than the Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion hit “WAP”! And as a song that celebrates Black Woman empowerment, there’s plenty to cover: the double-standard of men versus women being sexual, the debate over where the song empowers or degrades women, and of course the tired-ass “what about the kids” argument. This week, Ashley and Carlos co-host as our own Cardi and Megan, and we are joined by TWO special guest femme-cees, Chantel Whitt (@chantelwhitt) and Isake Smith (@isakesmith).

SpaceJellyfish ,

Just found this podcast.

I wish I had found it earlier but I’m glad I found it now, I can’t remember which podcast shouted them out. The hosts are so fun, keep things light on some very heavy but necessary subjects. As a nonbinary sibling I appreciate you all!

Changed

New season seems a bit... different, and not for the best I fear. The music isn’t as fun and the self care segment is removed (this was one of my favorite segments and almost the entire reason I enjoyed the show!!! It let me see into the lives and hear the real problems of the hosts who come from all sorts of backgrounds that are not my own or each other’s and IMO build empathy for experiences not my own)..

How is Jojo? I had hoped to hear an update on how the virus was effecting their life since they struggle so much with depression and work!

It just has kind of a white wash feel to it now, like I’ve heard it before in other podcasts.

I love this community

So, I might be one of the hosts. But, like... I love the work we do and the people who take time to listen to us. Thank you to all our listeners!
