Thursday | 9/24/2020 | The History of Aurora w/ Tracy Duran (Author/Historian‪)‬ Good Morning Aurora

    • Daily News

Did you know that the man who created the Cadillac, Henry Leland, is also the namesake of Leland Towers? Neither did we! And also, at one time in American history it was the tallest building in Illinois outside of Chicago. And just like that, the morning show became a history show. Today's conversation with local author & historian Tracy Duran was fantastic. We had a great time perusing through the pictures and memorabilia she brought with her on todays show. Tracy is an Aurora native and has deep, longstanding ties to our city. For her, history isn't just a hobby: its a full blown passion. From 1914 East Aurora High School yearbooks, old phone books and press photos; our city has a rich legacy and we got to take part in it today. Also Tracy has been a listener of ours since our early days of recording in the bathroom. We appreciate her and all of our other listeners and fans. When we speak of community and coming together we mean everyone, and Tracy gets that. Her work is awesome and she takes time in her information and writing. We're glad to have had her on the show, and rest assured, she WILL be back!

Shout outs go to all of our friends at the Aurora Township, O.N.U.S. (Our Neighbors United & Strong) and our State Representatives of the 83rd & 84th districts. Much love to our crew at Tredwell and much respect to all of the organizations out there in Aurora committed to change. Remember to get out and vote, get involved and seek ways to make a difference in your community. Seize life by the horns; take it, don't wait for it. Big shouts go to the Slade family, and the staff of Good Morning Aurora. Thank you to all of our subscribers, fans and listeners. Stay tuned for another great episode tomorrow and next week we've got even more great content for you! Be blessed, motivated and fearless.
