Raising and supporting a transgender child (including teens and young adults) is still seen as a radical move by many. We are here to offer support and help educate people on matters ranging from understanding the difference between being gender non-conforming and trans, talking to doctors, when to allow a child to transition, name changes, clothing, puberty, hormones, sports, schools, family stress, religion, laws, frustrations and triumphs.

As society starts to understand the needs of the transgender community, more people are seeking information on how to be supportive. We will also explore ways schools, medical offices, and businesses in general can support the trans population, as an extension of the training services offered through Gender Inc.

Wonderfully informative.

Thank you for taking time to make this podcast and having it available. I’m not trans or have anyone in my family that is. I wanted to find a podcast that will help me understand the trans world, so I can be more supportive in being able to defend this community. I hope all is going well for you and your family.

Thoughtful and Compassionate

An excellent show. I've learned a lot of trans terminology over the past eight months, but find myself better informed after hearing the first episode. Additionally, I am particularly touched by the compassion that Debi has for parents struggling with their own fears upon learning their kid is trans- rather than simply condemning them and reinforcing a simplistic and binary good/ bad view of people.

Eye opening

This podcast is a great-and safe-place to have your questions answered. If you find yourself asking "how can a kid know they're trans?" or "what in the world does cisgender mean?" this podcast is for you.
