God, I’m Triggered: How to Work Through Trauma Triggers as a Christian Woman | Summer Replay Series

What do we do when something happens and suddenly we're right back there? The emotions return. The anger rises. Our defenses go up. Old thoughts, reactions, and patterns we thought we had moved beyond begin resurfacing. In this Summer Replay Series episode of the Trauma to Testimony Podcast, we're having an honest conversation about navigating trauma triggers as Christian women and learning how to bring the wounded, angry, overwhelmed, and hurting parts of our stories before God. Together, we'll explore what happens when we're triggered, why trauma can impact the way we think, respond, relate to others, and even experience our relationship with God, and why healing requires more than simply ignoring what hurts. We'll talk about the importance of getting the help we need, the role therapy and supportive relationships can play in our healing journeys, and what it looks like to seek God when old wounds, painful memories, anger, and trauma responses begin resurfacing. We'll also explore Jesus' teaching about anger in Matthew 5 and consider how unresolved pain can impact our relationships, our reactions, and the way we walk out our faith. In this episode, we'll discuss: • What trauma triggers are and how they can impact us• Why old wounds can resurface during our healing journeys• How trauma can affect our thoughts, emotions, reactions, and relationships• Why getting help is an important part of healing• How therapy and faith can work together• What Jesus teaches us about anger and reconciliation• How to bring our triggers honestly before God• Why healing may require forgiveness, support, boundaries, and deeper surrender Healing Bestie, experiencing a trigger doesn't mean our healing journey has failed. Sometimes it reveals an area that still needs care, support, truth, and the healing presence of God. We don't have to pretend we're okay. We don't have to ignore what hurts. And we don't have to navigate the hard places of healing alone. We can bring the anger. We can bring the memories. We can bring the confusion. We can bring the hurt. We can bring the parts of our stories we still don't understand. And together, we can continue learning what it means to seek God, receive the help we need, renew our minds, and walk toward healing one step at a time. Scriptures Referenced: • Matthew 5:21–26• Matthew 4:18–22• Proverbs 3:5–6 Remember, Healing Bestie: When old wounds resurface, we can bring them before God. He is still working, still healing, and still writing our stories. Healing Is Bigger Than You: How God Uses Your Healing to Break Generational Cycles| Summer Replay Series

What if our healing journey was never meant to end with us? In this Summer Replay Series episode of the Trauma to Testimony Podcast, we're revisiting a powerful conversation about what happens when we begin to realize that our courage to heal can reach far beyond our own lives. Many of us begin our healing journey focused on surviving what happened to us. We're carrying trauma, rejection, abandonment, family wounds, and painful experiences while trying to understand where God was in our stories. But as we continue healing with God, we may begin to discover that He is doing something much bigger than we initially realized. Together, we're diving into the story of Hagar in Genesis 16 and exploring what it means to encounter El Roi—the God who sees us—in the middle of pain, confusion, and seasons when we feel alone. We'll talk honestly about generational trauma, forgiveness, surrender, the ways unhealed pain can impact our relationships, and why choosing to heal can change more than our own lives. In this episode, we'll explore: • Why our healing is bigger than us• How unhealed pain can impact the people around us• What Hagar's story teaches us about the God who sees• Why healing can change the legacy we leave behind• How God meets us in painful and difficult seasons• What it means to surrender our stories and healing journeys to God Healing Bestie, maybe we've wondered why we have to be the ones to do the hard work of healing. Maybe we've asked God why certain things happened or why we're the ones confronting patterns that have existed for generations. But what if our healing is birthing something bigger than we can currently see? Our healing can impact our families, our relationships, our children, our communities, and the people who will one day hear our testimonies. The same God who met Hagar in the wilderness still meets us today. He hears us. He sees us. And He is still working through our stories. Scripture Referenced: • Genesis 16 Remember, Healing Bestie: Our healing is bigger than us, and God can use our courage to heal to create a legacy of faith, freedom, and restoration. For many of us who have experienced trauma, rejection, abandonment, betrayal, or painful relationships, healing can feel deeply personal. We're trying to understand what happened, learn healthier patterns, renew our minds, and discover how to move forward with God. But as God continues working in us, we may begin to realize that our healing story can become an example of His grace, love, and transforming power. God is still tending the gardens of our hearts. He is healing. He is removing what no longer belongs. He is planting something new. And as we continue walking with Him, our lives can become living testimonies of His grace, redemption, and faithfulness. Scriptures Referenced: • John 13:8–17• Proverbs 15:22• Proverbs 3:5–6• The Book of Job Remember, Healing Bestie: God is still writing our stories. God Will Not Pass You By: Finding Hope, Healing, and God's Presence in Hard Seasons

In this episode of the Trauma to Testimony Podcast, we're exploring a powerful truth many of us need to be reminded of: God has not passed us by. There are seasons when we feel forgotten, overlooked, stuck in our healing, or still waiting for answers to prayers we've prayed for years. We may wonder if God sees us, hears us, or cares about what we're carrying. But through the story of the woman at the well, we're reminded that Jesus intentionally meets people in the places where they feel unseen, ashamed, and unworthy. Together, we'll talk about what it looks like to trust God when life feels difficult, how to recognize His presence in hard seasons, and why our past does not disqualify us from His grace, mercy, and love. We'll also explore practical ways to draw closer to God when we're struggling, including extending our prayer time, sitting in silence with Him, filling our lives with Scripture, and learning to pour out our hearts honestly before the Lord. Healing Bestie, if you've been feeling discouraged, forgotten, or like God is taking a long time to answer, this episode is a reminder that He still sees you, He still loves you, and He is still working in your story. Because the same Jesus who met the woman at the well is still meeting women today.
