The Alpha and Omega of Hotel Marketing: Conversations with Lotus Marketing, continued
Part 2 of 2. With April Lickovitch and Kimberly Erwin from Lotus Marketing
What IS a brand?
For hotels, there's a lot more to consider (especially compared to some of the DTC, online-first businesses that we've worked with).
It goes beyond just the logo and the look of a building. It's the atmosphere as you step inside for the first time. It's how the interior design looks. How the staff greets guests. What specific language do they use. What menu items are offered at the restaurant.
Crafting every touchpoint of a guest's journey is part of branding and marketing in the hotel business.
We unpack a lot more on this second half of our recording session with April and Kim.

Matt Wilpers: push yourself to be better, every single day
A little Q&A convo between Matt & Gaines from our premiere event a few weeks ago in nyc.
Featuring Matt Wilpers + our very own Gaines Minton, and interview by Annie Giannokos
Here are the Key Takeaways for the busy ones:
Community Significance:
Both Gaines and Matt highlighted the importance of community. Community is everything.
Interconnection of Skincare and Fitness
Matt discussed the significance of skincare, particularly sunscreen, in cycling. He emphasized how being exposed to the sun for prolonged periods during cycling necessitates the use of good sunscreen.
Adaptability in Storytelling
Gaines talked about the importance of flexibility in creating a story. The narrative they initially envisioned transformed when they met Matt and observed his community, and the final output was an authentic representation of their experience.
Personal Wellness
Matt touched upon the challenges of stress and its impact on his fitness journey. He emphasized the importance of listening to one's body and adopting proactive habits for better wellness. The brain cannot tell the difference between "stress" stress, and body/workout stress.
Value of Authentic Connections
Matt makes efforts to genuinely connect with every individual during the Gran Fondo race event, ensuring everyone encounters him finds themselves in a better place.
Importance of Self-Care
While it's important to push oneself in terms of performance, it's equally crucial to take care of one's well-being, both physically and mentally.

From Lockdown to Lift-off: Building a Hotel Marketing Empire in Quarantine
Part 1 of 2. With April Lickovitch and Kim Erwin from Lotus Marketing. Please SUBSCRIBE!
Seriously, remember the time all hotels were gone for a while during the pandemic era? We're so glad we're out of the phase now for us and our beloved clients, but we also remember during that time we stepped up as a team and an agency. We grew immensely creatively and forced us to diversify. And ultimately made us who we are today currently.
Pivoting an existing organization and a business model is one thing, but creating an entirely new hotel marketing agency is totally another level we can't fathom.
In this episode, Pete and Gaines interview April and Kim from Lotus Marketing. We talk about their start, humble beginnings where they were running to Costco to pick up laptops to get the basics going, to running a thriving marketing agency that works with over 300 amazing hotels.
You will find their insight into what makes marketing effective in the hotel space, building a robust team and lively culture despite the limitations of remote based environment, and more.
Hope you love this episode, there is more to come! Please share link with friends, it will help our growth immensely.
