Volunteer Recruitment Efforts and the Impact of Volunteering with Girl Scouts (according to GSRI)
This week Jamiel is taking the wheel and Sarah & Jamiel are exploring what the research says about the impact of volunteering as a Girl Scout troop leader... then, because Jamiel's service team are the queens of recruitment, she is sharing some of her tips for recruiting volunteers, including thinking outside the box to find non-traditional volunteers.
And as always, you'll get Sarah's $1.20 about all of it, too. Because with Sarah, you never get just two cents... you get $1.20.
Volunteer Appreciation, Leading Multiple Troops, and Service Unit Manager with Shaleigha R. from Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania
When I first started chatting with Shaleigha, she told me that it'd be easier to describe what roles she HASN'T held as a Girl Scout volunteer. In today's interview, we focused mostly on her roles as a leader for multiple troops and service unit manager. Because it's almost April, we also had a really interesting discussion about Volunteer Appreciation Month and Volunteer Appreciation in general.
7 Fundraising Ideas if 2022 is NOT Your BEST COOKIE SEASON EVER
It's actually like a karmic joke that we started January with a "BEST COOKIE SEASON EVER" Troop Leader Tee. I know that for many of you, this has NOT been the BEST COOKIE SEASON EVER. But a) it's not too late! we can still salvage the 2022 cookie program as best as we can as a ~ * L e A r N i N g E x P e R i E n C e *~ and b) when in doubt, plan another money earning project.
In today's episode we are introducing SEVEN popular money earning ideas that might work for your troop to help your girls still do great things, regardless of whether they hit their cookie goals. As always, the number one thing is to make sure you go through the proper approval process for your council and to always put the safety of your girls first.

So much great info!
I started listening to this podcast just before I signed up to be a leader in my daughter’s Daisy troop. It has brought me so much information and inspiration, and has quickly become my favorite podcast! I even have a friend who I urged just this week to become a contributor!
Thank you for helping me become a more confident leader!
Amazing resource for troop leaders!
This podcast is an amazing resource for both new and experienced troop leaders. My favorite episodes are ones where she discusses planning strategies and “outside the box” meeting suggestions. I also enjoy listening to interviews with other leaders.
Such an inspiring podcast. This is my first year as a leader and listening to Sarah makes me feel excited and confident to be a leader. She has totally changed my mindset to think about GSLE and helping my girls grow into strong, courageous women.
