An original voice - Not the usual derivative drivel

Josh Hallmark shows up the hosts of other true crime shows by doing original research and penetrating analysis, being properly reflective & self-aware (w/o being pompous, self-indulgent, or dull), and throwing in some wry remarks here and there for good measure. Shrewd and riveting. Looking forward to what JH does next.

One of the most interesting podcasts out there!

Josh Hallmark knows exactly what he is doing. His podcast is provocative, daring, and brilliant. Insightful commentary on unusual and complex cases submerged with chilling stretches of audio that place the listener into the center of the investigation provide a captivating combination, as you find yourself longing for the calm voice of the narrator to return with interpretations of what a serial killer just said to the detectives interrogating him, and to you as you’re hanging on every word. While Josh delivers a connection between a level of his own personal vulnerability and his descent into case files and police interviews, his fascination with his subjects will cause you to ask yourself “am I in too deep?” But ultimately, once you arrive at that point in his investigation, you do not want to turn back. You will find yourself waiting for the next episode, understanding that you’ll be receiving something that examines the nature of true crime itself with unique illustrations of some seriously disturbing criminals. Highly recommend!
