THORchain launches cross-chain swaps; Polygon has an admin key; Another crypto heist on BSC

THORchain launches cross-chain swaps; Polygon has an admin key; Another crypto heist on BSC

    April 29, 2021

Good: THORchain has launched their product allowing native crypto-to-crypto swaps. How is their decentralized solution different from the rest?

Bad: Polygon aka Matic uses a 2-of-3 multisig admin key to allow upgradability, however this key may also be capable of jeopardizing the security of the network.

Ugly: The theft of funds from Uranium Finance in the past week highlights the risks that come with cheap & rapid development on Binance Smart Chain.

Loopring gives superpowers to Layer 2; Uniswap is not answering an important question about v3; Massive $80m admin key theft highlights issues

Loopring gives superpowers to Layer 2; Uniswap is not answering an important question about v3; Massive $80m admin key theft highlights issues

Good: Loopring announced Ethport, which will give Layer 2 users the ability to interact with Layer 1 smart contracts (i.e. Yearn, Compound, Synthetix, etc) with their Layer 2 funds. Mind-blowing stuff.

Bad: Uniswap told users that their new v3 protocol would be protected by a Business Source License, prohibiting anyone from copying it, however refuses to tell the governance community who will be enforcing the license.

Ugly: EasyFi Network reported a massive $80m+ admin key theft as the result of poor security. What can we learn from this?

BadgerDAO's guarded release, apeing into FEI and losing, Consensys sending ominous signals

BadgerDAO's guarded release, apeing into FEI and losing, Consensys sending ominous signals

On the first episode of Trust Bubble, Chris Blec looks at the good, the bad and the ugly of this week in DeFi.

Good: BadgerDAO's guarded release of a new WBTC vault may be signalling the beginning of the end of DeFi's reckless "test in prod" mentality.   (https://badgerdao.com)

Bad: A lot of people aped into DeFi project FEI without understanding how it worked. When will DeFi users start taking responsibility for their actions?  (https://yhoo.it/3e9fwWn)

Ugly: Consensys partnering with MasterCard, JP Morgan with the goal of blending DeFi with TradFi could ultimately lead to disaster. (https://bit.ly/3mQNkvu)
