Premise has gotten lost

When the podcast started, Iliza gave thoughtful, insightful answers to questions from her fans. Lately, she doesn’t seem to care as much. There is less consideration for the questions and it’s frustrating to listen to.

The episodes with guests are pretty good because most of the questions are from listeners for the guest. But whenever a fan has a question about life for Iliza, she trivializes them. She approaches every question with an attitude that “I’m older and smarter and your problems are beneath me.” If you don’t want to answer those kinds of questions, just don’t include them. But people are asking because they look up to her and they’re going through something they need advice about.

I can’t listen to any episodes without guests because I can’t stand the way she talks to and about Emily. I really like Emily and hearing her thoughts. She’s smart and funny in a different way than Iliza, so their opinions actually pair really well together. But Iliza talks about Emily’s hobbies and the way she eats and her car and desk as if Emily is a piece of trash with dumb interests. The verbal abuse gets to be too much.

I like Iliza’s specials. She clearly puts a lot of thought and work into them. I wish the podcast got even a fraction of that attention.

Love Iliza

Iliza is smart, funny, and asks good questions. Never a dull pod.
