Turning the Page - Overcoming Addiction One Foot in Front of the Other - To Life!

    • Self-Improvement

“Others may, you may not…” a direct and perfect quote from the father of today’s guest. Addiction and alcoholism are at all time highs across the country and we know that Covid definitely contributed to that. I’ve learned personally many years ago through Al-Anon classes as the previous spouse of an addict that often the high or excitement about getting high is about the process, the planning behind it, the master plan that pre-occupies the mind of the alcoholic or addict. There is such thing as a rock bottom for most, but many times that rock bottom is simply too late. Enabling is a real thing, such as tough love is too. Some people cheat on their spouses with others, some people cheat with addiction in various forms. The family suffers immensely and addiction destroys lives and kills people every day. The biggest thing to know is that the you cannot fix an addict and once an addict always an addict. The recovery is a lifetime process that only that person themselves can work at. No one can put in the work in for them and they alone are the only ones that can put one foot in front of the other to better themselves. Our guest on today’s show is Hillary Dallas who is a sober alcoholic and addict who has overcome the life adversity of addiction, turned her whole world around and has become a counselor doing God’s great work to help people overcome the power of addiction one step at a time. She is the mom of a beautiful little girl who is 3.5 years old, a step-mom of a 12 year old daughter, married with a baby on the way. Please see below a few resources if you or someone you know is in need of support to win the battle of addiction. If you have a story you’d like to share on my podcast about overcoming one of life’s great adversities or you would like to book me as a speaker for a company or corporate event, please email me a info@teamtalentbuilders.com Resources:
