The Twenty One Gun Podcast, in partnership with Irreverent Warriors, is an interview show highlighting the experiences of the modern veteran through the voices of those that served. It is an unfiltered view into our motives for joining, our experiences serving, and how we perceive our place in a society of non-veterans.
Twenty One Gun shares a common philosophy with Irreverent Warriors: reigniting the camaraderie and sense of purpose experienced within the brotherhood we once had in the military and reinforcing the notion that we’ll always be there for each other. Bringing veterans together through humor and camaraderie improves their quality of life. Be that through the 21 Gun Podcast, IW Silkies Hikes, or other veteran events.

THE END RESULT IS THE SAME:
fewer veterans who kill themselves!

#85 Mike Stojic, USMC Officer: Surviving 2020 as a Bar Owner!

Mike Stojic is the Co-owner of "Revival 1869: A Drinkery" located in downtown Clayton, NC. Mike's dream was to create something special and not be stuck in a 9-5 working a meaningless job. Thus he created Revival 1869. Rather than "just another bar," Revival has to be experienced. Then came March 2020 and everything changed. Hear Mike's story about how instead of becoming a statistic (70% restaurant closures) he and his partner Maleah adapted and overcame. Great story! THanks Mike!!!
We discussed the art of entrepreneurship and surviving the past year in one of the hardest hit industries. Mikes talks about his ways of staying mentally healthy during adversity. Mike is has been a guest many times on my old podcast and it is always fun to have him in studio! I figured we'd go down some rabbit holes and we certainly did!
We also have Bill Butler, co-coordinator of the Knoxville Silkies Hike, hopping on to discuss the 5/22 hike in Knoxville, TN.

#81 Daniel Fahey - US Army Ranger, Founder of Gritty Soldier Fitness

Tonight's Special Guest: Daniel Fahey Founder & Owner of Gritty Soldier Fitness
From GrittySoldier.com "Dan truly found his passion for fitness after he suffered catastrophic wounds from combat in 2013. Although the event saw him return from the deployment early, he dedicated himself to a speedy recovery and return to duty. Since then, he has completed numerous military schools to include the Army's Ranger, Airborne, Air Assault, and Pathfinder Schools. He also completed the Best Ranger Competition in 2019. Marathon and Ultra-running became a new found passion, driving additional knowledge in endurance and how to sustain the body for long-distance events and challenges. Serving as an Infantry Platoon Leader, he founded Gritty Soldier Fitness in 2020, in an effort to spread his knowledge of fitness training and motivate other service-members to reach their aspirations and achieve their goals. Today, Dan continues to serve in the line of duty while making it his personal mission to spread the importance of resilience and the spirit of Grit to as many as possible. His leadership experience, integrity, and knowledge of team-building is the fundamental bedrock of the Gritty Soldier Fitness foundation. The mission of Gritty Soldier Fitness is to prepare, educate, motivate, and inspire the modern-day, warrior-spirited individual through providing experience-based, science-backed fitness programming to enhance overall physical performance. We are a team of extremely driven leaders who are passionate about helping others reach their fitness goals. Everyday, we live, breath, and train to our motto, "EXCEED THE STANDARD."

#80 Jerome Amos - USAF, Founder of B.F.A.M. Cooking

#80 Jerome Amos - USAF, Founder of B.F.A.M. Cooking

Tonight's Special Guest: USAF Jerome Amos, BFAM Cooking Jerome is from Long Island, New York and served in the US. Air Force for over 5 years, during the gulf war. As he likes to say, "the military was a great way is to treat everyone on your team the same as your family. That’s the foundation for Brother From Another Mother cooking or B.F.A.M. Cooking because everyone can be your “fam” especially at the dining table." Jerome has a YouTube channel called BFAM Cooking with new recipes twice a month. His videos range from reviews of cooking tools, cooking original recipes to interviews with American cuisine restaurant owners. He was also a finalist on the Favorite Chef competition. Not everyone likes to cook but everyone likes to eat! SO I think this will be a fun show.

BACKPACKS FOR LIFE ,

Top-notch Veteran Content

Some Veteran podcasts can be too emotional and some Veteran podcasts can be too motivating. Just like the three little bears...this one is just right!

Much needed!

Great podcast! Much needed in our current environment, bringing the military community together. Tune in! Thanks Twenty-One Gun!

Motivating

It has pained me listening to podcasts where a civilian has no idea the severity of some questions they ask and the poor etiquette in which they ask them.

Kevin knows these facts and balances himself securely being a veteran himself. He knows how to approach difficult questions and ensure his guests speak openly without being put on the spot.

My only complaint is sponsors need to jump on board so we can hear this once a week at least.
