Writing as a Tool for Transformation, with Laura Davis

Writing as a Tool for Transformation, with Laura Davis

This week we bring back one of our most popular podcast guests, Laura Davis, to talk about the power of writing our stories. Laura, who wrote the award-winning memoir The Burning Light of Two Stars, tells us how she writes to gain perspective and make sense of her evolving life. To our delight, she shares her process in teaching students who take her classes and join her writing retreats. We love this conversation. We, like Laura Davis, believe in writing as a tool for self-awareness and transformation. But she explains it so well. Take a listen.

Engaging interviewers

I love the banter both between Hannah and Celia, as well as the engaging interviews they conduct with their guests (and I enjoyed being a guest myself!) This podcast is a great resource for those of us in mid-life and beyond who are going through a “plot twist.”

Twisting the Plot podcast proves vision is not all about the eyes

I’ve listened to every episode, some twice. Whether I thought the topic was pertinent to me or not when I read the brief, I found something for me in each. I always finding myself laughing out loud, sometimes I cry, I gain insight into myself and into other people. Perhaps it is the insight into other people that Hannah, Cecilia and their guests reveal is what draws me to Twisting the Plot podcast more than any other.

So Incredible!!

What an amazing podcast. I did some research and recommended this to an aunt of mine a few months back and she has thanked me on multiple occasions for sending it to her. Just sent it over to my mom who is nearing the age of 50 as well and am hoping for her to receive the goodness and love that Hannah and Cecilia are providing for their audience!
