Collective machine learning models with Fetch.ai

Collective machine learning models with Fetch.ai

In this episode, we’re joined by Humayun Sheikh, CEO of Cambridge-based artificial intelligence lab Fetch.ai. Their blockchain-based platform enables collective learning by connecting multiple stakeholders to utilise AI, machine learning and statistics.

As long as data is resting with one entity, innovation is stagnated. When companies can work collectively and share data without revealing their competitive advantage, all can benefit and the speed of innovation can accelerate.

We discuss with Humayun, how the Web 3 space is evolving and the momentum behind different blockchains. How is Fetch.ai using blockchain and smart contracts to enable collective learning? How can building AI models collectively can work in practice?

The world's first Data Union, Swash

The world's first Data Union, Swash

Both Swash and Streamr are companies on a mission to create a better, more dignified internet where people are in control of their data and rewarded for their contributions as data providers. On this episode, we have Reza Naeeni, Co-Founder and CEO of Swash and Shiv Malik, Head of Growth at the Streamr project.

Streamr recently launched their Data Union framework, and Swash is the first real-world example of a Data Union built on the Streamr technology stack. Swash browser plugin allows users to monetise their browsing data, giving users the tools to capture their data, choose what they want to share and what to hide, and then send it in real-time to Streamr’s data Marketplace where buyers can purchase the data.

The open-source Data Union framework makes this kind of proposition viable by bringing together the data from a large number of data providers and making it available to buyers, and then enabling data providers to withdraw payments for their data from the single Ethereum smart contract. Swash is already used by thousands of users around the world.

With Reza and Shiv, we talk about the issues around data selling today and how Data Unions can alleviate these problems, open up new ethical business opportunities and fairer value chains around data. In this new world, all partners benefit from data exchange.

The innovative county using drones for medicine delivery, Llewelyn Morgan of Oxfordshire

This time on the TX Podcast we have a superb guest, Llewelyn Morgan, Head of Innovation at Oxfordshire County Council. Llewelyn is part of a team developing POCs and experiments as well as policies around innovative technologies such as drones and connected autonomous vehicles.

Together with Oxford university, they are working to bridge learning and innovation that happens in different sectors and facilitate crossovers that could lead to new business and solutions to major problems in transport, health, energy, and the social sector.

Using Oxfordshire as a living laboratory, their work is envisioning what the future might look like and designing how to have the necessary frameworks in place to ensure those futures play out in positive ways. One of their exciting projects is to utilise drones to deliver medicines supplies into rural areas during Covid-19.

We discuss these exciting projects and their outcomes, and how counties can benefit from Web 3 technologies and real-time data to create better infrastructure and services for citizens.
