Tent Wood Stove Meaning and Pro Tips [Ep. 16]

Tent Wood Stove Meaning and Pro Tips [Ep. 16]

A tent wood stove burns wood as fuel and requires a stove jack for the chimney to exit the shelters living area.

Generally a stove jack is made of a fire proof material which makes it possible for a red hot chimney pipe to exit the tent.

Secondly tent wood stoves burn wood for fuel that you find in the forest, or bring along with you on your camping adventure.

Thirdly how hot it can become inside the tent depends on fuel source, firebox size, and wood dimensions.

As a pro tip we like to use different sizes of wood pieces to control the temperature.

As a general benefit we like to use a tent wood stove as a heat source, cooking surface, to dry clothes and lower the risk of condensation.

Loved it- Great for all levels of experience!

Listened to this while I was unpacking and ended up listening to all the episodes! Dustin and Jake are easygoing, and their convos flow really well. I am not new to camping but I am new to backpacking and I learned a lot from this podcast. A lot of blogs and experienced backpackers tend to use lots of gear references and can be overwhelming/make a newbie feel inadequate, but these guys were very encouraging and had a lot of good suggestions for getting more comfortable with your stuff, planning a trip, and getting out there even in snow or rain.
