This is a safe space for anyone who has ever lost a job, left a job, or is sitting at their desks bored out of their mind right now! Based on the hit live digital talk show, "The Unemployed Show," where Anna and guests would wear pajamas every week and commiserate about bad jobs, this podcast is a more intimate look into the world of unemployment and underemployment. Anna sat in front of a camera on her couch for 'The Unemployed Show' for 2 years and then got a job hosting a show in front of hundreds of thousands of people on the app HQ. Is she the fairy godmother of unemployed millennials? Some say yes! Hopefully this podcast will inspire you to pick yourself up and get a new job, or stay on your couch and chill all day. Either way, you'll laugh with Anna and her guests about the insane things they did for work. Each week Anna interviews friends, comedians, and professionals about their worst (and best!) job stories and how they figured out life as an unemployed person. Oh and sometimes they call a stranger from the internet who is unemployed and in need of a pep talk. It's sweet.

Episode 52: From 'Leisure Suit Larry' to 'Sex And The City' with The Bradshaw Boys (Cory Cavin, Jon Sieber, Kevin James Doyle)

Meanwhile, on the other side of town, The Bradshaw Boys joined the Unemployed Podcast for Episode 52! We're so blessed to have Cory Cavin, Kevin James Doyle, and Jon Sieber, the hilarious hosts of the podcast The Bradshaw Boys on this week's episode! We talk all about their jobs they had before deciding to watch all of Sex And The City for the first time as grown adult men. We also discuss the jobs of the characters on SATC, because how was Carrie able to afford that apartment by writing a column and a book? And who made the most money on the show? After learning about Kevin's tour guiding days, we all come up with the next biggest NYC tour that you'll have to sign up for when it's safe. Jon famously coins the next best holiday that could rival Christmas, in the workplace. Cory brings back the popular game, "Leisure Suit Larry" that he discovered on a job when he was a kid while taking care of his neighbor's dog. The stories in this episode are SO much fun. So leave a fun review! And go listen to The Bradshaw Boys (Anna's on an episode!) because their podcast is the best. Also on this episode, Anna and Ellen discuss Anna's ass injury because she got out of an Uber wrong, or she hurt it on the Peloton... either way, it's not working properly. Episode 51: No Job? Give Yourself A Fellowship with Kelly Bachman

Episode 51: No Job? Give Yourself A Fellowship with Kelly Bachman

And now onto our next 50 episodes! This week we have the very funny comedian and writer, Kelly Bachman on the show! Kelly is also one of the last comedians Anna saw at a show before the pandemic, so this is a sweet reunion of sorts! Although she's currently unemployed, she's got a very inspiring and admirable schedule to be productive: She "imagines she has a fellowship that will be ending at the end of the month." And convinces herself of this each month! She tricks herself! It's brilliant. And that's how she's managing to write a book, which we can't wait to read. She once worked at a Subway as a sandwich artist, she's been an assistant and other jobs at a film production company. We also talk about how companies try to fire you nicely. And of course we discuss the time when she performed onstage in front of Harvey Weinstein and called him out! Ellen and Anna break down the "5 to 9" Squarespace Superbowl commercial and how they feel about it, since it kind of sums up a lot of people's lives.Epic episode, go follow Kelly (@BellyKachman) for more laughs, and go listen to all 50 other episodes! Episode 50: "Acting is About Accents" Even If It's One Line with Tim Murray

It's our 50th EPISODE!!! We'rrre 50! We did it! We're retiring! (Just kidding, you need to be working to retire, right?) This week we have a such a treat for our 50th episode. We are joined by the very funny comedian and podcast host Tim Murray (Slumber Party Podcast) is our guest! Tim is an amazing hustler, who booked himself all over the world and went on tour with his one hour standup show. But also? He's been an acting teacher for child models in LA, he's found tons of jobs on Craigslist, and he's worked in Summer Stock. We discuss his time working at a snack bar at a pool, and Ruby Tuesday's, where a whole world was opened up for him. We chat about hooking up at your place of work, which some people do. Also Tim tells us about a dramatic breakup at the bar he worked at, his experience working in theme parks, and his stories are the best! Ellen and Anna discuss their fun times on HQ After Dark and Ellen's famous hand, and Anna debates starting an Only Fans account. Plus, we take a call from someone who was fired from Game Stop and talk about how insane the Game Stop Stock drama has been lately. It's an amazing episode, and thanks for listening to all 50! Episode 49: Ordained by Day, Gov. Cuomo by Night with Maria DeCotis

Episode 49: Ordained by Day, Gov. Cuomo by Night with Maria DeCotis

This week's guest is the very funny comedian and content creator Maria DeCotis! You may remember Maria's Governor Cuomo videos throughout the pandemic, or caught some of her other funny videos online! But today she's here to tell us about her other jobs, which have been everything from working in retail at Urban Outfitters to becoming ordained and marrying people! Hot tip? She's still marrying people, over Zoom, in a pandemic, and we love that this is happening. Anna and Maria bond over Boston University where they both went to college (but never met!) and talk about Maria's jobs working at school. Plus, we get a taste of the phone call she had with Cuomo when he praised her for her videos! Also on the episode, Ellen follows Anna on Linked In and Anna thinks it's a prank until she tells her it's not. We discuss our love/hate relationship with the networking site...who we'd still love to sponsor us! It's a great episode and we know you'll love to follow @MariaDeCotis !! Episode 48: From Babysitting to Bartending to Big Mouth with Gil Ozeri

Episode 48: From Babysitting to Bartending to Big Mouth with Gil Ozeri

We've got a great episode this week! Our guest on the pod is the very funny Gil Ozeri (Big Mouth, BlackAF). Before he was a successful TV writer and actor, he had many jobs. He was also Anna's first improv teacher at UCB, and owes it all to Gil! Gil tells all about his babysitting days and how he once thought someone was breaking in while babysitting his cousins. We also have to commend him for getting hired at a graphic design company and even pretending he had a design partner when really he had no skills yet. Gil was also a bartender and was "discovered" in a bar he worked at for doing an impression of the owner and from then on he started doing improv at UCB. It's a really fun episode and we close out with a game where Gil has to pick a job that doesn't exist anymore. Also, Ellen and Anna discuss the backstory of Willy Wonka...and should it be a movie again or not? He didn't really have the best practices at his place of work. If you love the episode, follow @tallgilozeri on social media and watch BlackAF and Big Mouth on Netflix! Oh and follow us at @UnemployedPDCST, or go give some love to the Patreon.com/UnemployedPodcast. Thanks love you! HIRE US.

Episode 47: She Wore Suits to Temp Jobs Like a Boss with Abbi Crutchfield

What a week! New president, new episode. We're so excited to have the very funny comedian and host, Abbi Crutchfield (Up Early Tonight on Hulu) with us on the pod! Abbi talks about working for no money in childcare, to working for a little money in childcare, to actually being a mom responsible for her own child. We also discuss all of her temping gigs, and how she wanted them to turn into full-time jobs, her stint at a pizza place, and of course her new late night comedy show for moms, starring moms, about moms. Definitely check it out! Also, Anna and Ellen discuss the controversy about Blake Shelton's new song, "Minimum Wage" and they have very interesting (even contradicting?) feedback! Plus, we take a call from Matt, our new friend, who had the fortunate luck of graduating from law school and passing the bar... during the unfortunate year we call 2020 and is having trouble finding a job. Give it a listen, because maybe you have advice for Matt too! It's an awesome episode and if you want to watch the full video, please check out Patreon.com/UnemployedPodcast!
